Ravens offense looking dangerous? Nice one.

Good Packer victory against the Bears last night. Packer defense kept a safety over the top to double cover Brandon Marshall and it worked. Bears O-line couldn't find a way to stop Clay Matthews either. Hopefully Packers can use this victory as a building block.

and I slept right through it, damn graveyard shifts! Sounds like the D had a hell of a night. It's always a good day when you can beat down a Bear like that (sorry Mummy)

How 'bout those Eagles?
2-0 with both wins coming from last minute (or two) TD drives. They played much better this week against a tough Ravens team.

Who would have 'thunk it after last weeks laugh fest. And they're all by themselves in first. I had to work today but I see the Redskins found an offense but lost a defense. I keep forgetting this is the Daniel Snyder Redskins. Something's bound to be screwed up somewhere.

The Hawks actually showed up and looked like a pro team. They were clicking on all cylinders... it is always a plus to beat the 'pokes too.
But damn, they actually made their uniforms look uglier at home (and they were nasty enough on the road). Nike should be slaped upside their heads.

These recent college football and NFL design changes have come from the school of designing hideousness. Does someone really think these new uniforms look good? Is this a new strategy to win a game by making the opponents die of laughter? How devious!

Wow, the Texans-Jaguars game was high comedy. You owe it to yourself to check that one out. At halftime there was no 3rd-down conversions and negative passing yards for jax. it's like the texans are playing a high school team. The commentators are struggling to find new ways to say Jacksonville sucks. (I'm listening to it on Game Rewind...)

Rams were really able to move those short passes. Also, i think the playcalling or something is weird. i get that RGIII is having fun being star of the week but he's scrambling too much. he's gonna get injured and then we're gonna be back with grossman, just like old times. (I believe he's second string, yes?) Also, they're not playing to his strengths, with lots of running plays when IMO they should be doing short passes. remember those screens in the first quarter against NO, and how well that worked? with RGIII i'd focus on short passes to compensate for the weak O-line and other than that treat RGIII like a princess so he stays healthy. that means no more sneaks, no more extracurricular blocking after the handoff, etc. garcon was out for the rams game, and that's a big deal. RGIII and garcon are already having a relationship that reMaps me of schaub and andre johnson, which i find encouraging. performance will improve when he gets back out there, i think. but losing to the rams is not good news. also: is pierre garcon (with the thing under the "c") not the most awesome name in professional football? how do you even get into the NFL with a name like that?

Is this a new strategy to win a game by making the opponents die of laughter? How devious! I read an article about Nike's design of the hideous Oregon uniforms, which plotted the whole backstory. Turns out, hideously overdone uniforms get your team noticed, which helps a college program raise its visibility. Maybe with the NFL, they think ugly uniform design will result in more sales than a design that can be dismissed as boring and typical.

Don't sleep on the Cardinals. I remain unconvinced that their offense can get things done. But damn, their defense has the makings of something that might be special. Forget my Patriot bias, they shut us down and looked damn good going it. The Cards do that every week and they're legit contenders even with that offense. One more week and I'll be a believer.
As to the Pats, well, "it is what it is."

I can't beleive I'm saying this... but can we have the real Refs back, please.
The end of the Vikes/49ers game was embarassing.
And I like how on that last Monday Night play, one ref signals TD while the other -standing right next to him- calls it an INT.
BTW, Packers need an offensive line.

Nope. That last play on MNF didn't happen. Is there a reset button on the NFL? The NFL just angered their most loyal fan base. I can hear the explosions from here. That was just...so, so bad.

I love it. Anything that undermines the totalitarian dictatorship of Goodell that passes for "protecting the shield" is great fun to watch. He's been the judge, jury, and executioner for too long and it's nice to see him with egg all over his face.
Trent Dilfer hit it out of the park in his post-game comments when he said the NFL is "insulting our intelligence when they tell us it's not a problem" and fine anyone who points out the glaringly obvious. I hope the replacement refs work for 6 more weeks. The worse it gets, the more the NFL brass is exposed for the hypocritical bullies they are.
