^that's my new symbol for lol. and i know what rog is!! it was a really popular guy at the moon landing! Sorry Spice. That was one of those quips that I was 99% sure you were kidding, but that 1% of my brain that wasn't sure told me to write it out just in case. The moon landing just wouldn't have been the same without rog. He was the life of the party.

I think Fate has turned her eye on me. Just after I put my foot in mouth with my earlier post I went to get up from my couch and my lower back decided 'For that take this!' And so I have a very sore stiff back. It's not muscle tightening it's a sore lower spine. I had an extreme case of sciatica back in 2006 and I had to have it fixed by lower back surgery. My left leg was on fire and I couldn't put pressure on it for a whole month while waiting to find out what the doctors could do to alleviate the pain. The only choice was to shave away the disc in my lower spine that was pinching my sciatic nerve. It's been great ever since but every so often, usually if I was sitting in an awkward position, it stiffens up on me.
A little acetaminophen is helping but my lack of sleep may interfere with my coherence.
By the way, what site is this? The 'Friends of Friends' discussion board? OW! I made myself laugh there.

take that...! i mean - dang, chicken. i'm truly sorry to hear that; hope it feels better soon.
lower back surgery is no joke. my sister had to have it last year and she said it helped some, but not completely. will this works itself out or will you have to go to one of 'dem witch doctors?

will this works itself out or will you have to go to one of 'dem witch doctors? Yeah, where's Spackle when you need her? A little eye of newt stew would be helpful about now. Anyone know the call of the wild Spackle? Thanks, Spice. It usually lasts about two to three days. This is the most uncomfortably one I've had since the surgery. But it's still way better than the trillions of hot iron needles feel of my sciatica incident.

yowsa, you paint a painful picture, chicken. my nephew, who is 16, has spina bifida. it has been difficult watching him live with the surgeries, casts, splints and countless doctor appointments since he was born, but he is a miracle. my sister's doctors told her when she was preggers with him that she should get an abortion because he would be mentally challenged and have to live in a wheelchair/institution all his life, but he does most everything teenage boys do. he's even in the marching band at school and used to be pretty active in karate. he had back surgery last year - FIFTEEN hours of surgery so doctors could insert metal rods into his spine. he had to spend a month in the hospital afterwards. that kid has been through more than any kid should, but he has one of the most positive attitudes i've ever seen. sorry - i kinda go on about him when i get started, but the back is such a puzzle, isn't it? it has to be strong enough to enable us to do the crap we do, yet it is so delicate, too. i remember when my dad was in traction when i was a kid - looked awful. i have chronic lower back pain that i have just learned to live with, but anyone with back problems is worthy of sympathy and a home visit from spackle's special healing - ahhh - herbs.

Anyone know the call of the wild Spackle? Don't help none now that I'm old, crotchety*, and deef. Let me get my horn here. Now whadya say, sonny? Sorry to hear about your back, chicken. My witchy doc prescription involves acupuncture via voodoo dolls and evil sprites pummeling you with their little electric feet. I suggest you let me knock you out cold first. spice, that's quite a story about your nephew. I'm glad he came through all that surgery okay. * Hah! I just looked up crotchety for fun, and synonyms include capricious, whimsical, and freakish. Well, one out of three ain't bad..... Yes, I was thinking freakish.

Nothing like a clean pummeling by evil sprites. Today's magic word is: freakish.
Yeah Spice, that was some story. He sounds like a great inspiration to all who know him. May he keep keeping on!

Someone get Phantom some food quick. I think he's hungry.
My back is much better today. It now seems like it must have been my sciatica acting up. I started feeling a slight tingling under my left knee last night and it hurt more around my left hipbone this morning than my lower back. Right where that nerve runs.
The nerve of it!

No, he gots his own miniseries. Poultry Esoterica. What do they do with the feathers? Gizzard or no gizzard? And should we sue that early bird who keeps eating our worms? Read the book. I took up Spice's challenge of finding a replacement for the LOL acronym. I came up with this: L-SHIP. Yes, it's the laughed-so-hard-I-peed acronym. Think it'll catch on? Will we all one day take a cruise on that L-SHIP? Read the book. This Friday I have an appointment in Kona, so I shall be gone all day. My allergist decided to screw up his east side patients by forcing them to drive 100 miles to get their shots. What's with him? Is this a conspiracy to help out the gas stations? What shall I do? Read the book! The Poultry Esoterica Miniseries book is available for $2 with $25 shipping and handling or you can get free shipping by buying two copies for the reasonable price of $99.99.* *You'll have to buy the book to find out why chicken math is like this. It makes sense to them, trust me.

If you say it twice.... "Trust me, trust me." everyone will trust you. Or not.
