LONDON:
Great cold opening. Picking up EXACTLY where we left off last season...with a bewildered Andy trying to figure out who's pregnant...
When suddenly Diane walks in the door and...
So, as previously mentioned, the fastest proposal/marriage in TV history takes place, and...
Did Diane "get ya!"
when she said her middle name was "Tammy"?
She
so gets Ron...
Oh, btw...Lucy Lawless is Diane. Duh, you say? Yes, duh, but I guess I haven't been paying attention to the credits, and it just didn't register with my brain...so
that's Diane's accent...British American.
She's great, I'm not complaining...just surprised me...in a good way....shut up Scott, and get on with it...
Funniest belly laugh of the night:
Like the way they explained away the last 6 months, and what happened to Chris Pratt's gut?
See, the begining was filmed last season, and tacked on this season to give us the cliff hanger.
Over the summer, Chris Pratt (Andy) buffed out (you can google that one, ladies) and they explained
it on Andy quitting beer for a month, "You must've drank a
lot of beer."
Andy finding a kindred spirt 'across the pond' - or as he puts it, 'down under' - was a high
point of this episode. Andy's been reeeaaal down since bombing the Police Dept oral exams, and
it's been hinted that he's somewhat of a savant when it comes to intelligent thinking...ie; kinda dumb,
but insightful. Anyway, it'll be neat to see how that plays out...I sure hope it doesn't
mean a bunch of episodes without Andy, that would suck...we'll see...
Some favorite Swansonisms from England:
"Look, a clock! (pointing to Big Ben) We don't have
those in America."
"You call that a tower?! Try the
Sears Tower!"
"Your overlords are a frail old woman, and a tiny baby!"
LOVED seeing Heidi Clume
So...it's not Puff-Diddy(Daddy/Sammy/Hammy) who's trying to bury Tom's
Rent-a-Swag, it's...
THE FONZ!
One again this show writes the textbook on casting.
Can you imagine what it would be like to have a friend like Leslie Knope?
Someone who would take the time and energy to plan adventures and parties for you?
Well, such a person does not exist...it's physically impossible...but, hey, this is TV...
As far as Chris and Ann leaving for Bloomington...I believe this show is strong enough
to endure a loss like that. While their characters are certainly enjoyable, they are not
my favorites, and with the new STRONG characters they've been introducing (ie: Diane,
Mona Lisa and Dr. Saperstein) this show could go on for years...
Oh, and I will agree with groupie...sorry, spicey, that Aubrey Plaza has
that something...
I LOVE THIS SHOW!
