Scorched Earth Brewing Company's Exiled Angel. From the label on the bottle: "Lucifer, Satan and the Devil-names cast upon heaven's Exiled Angel-marked as deceptive, seductive, and powerful: characteristics closely associated with the Belgian Style Golden Ale. Golden-honey in appearance, Exiled Angel explodes with true Belgian ale complexity. Fruit, honey, bubblegum, peppercorn, and spice notes all join together in our open fermenter. It's hard to imagine how those little devilish, single-cell organisms create such wonder and beauty. Sante"
This beer is very good and is local for me; Scorched Earth is brewed in Algonquin IL. I'd buy lots of this one.

Victory Brewing's Festbier, which is their Oktoberfest Amber Lager. 5.5% alcohol by volume, has a good taste and is one of their limited edition Oktoberfest beers. This beer is crafted in the German style. Has a full flavor. Highly recommended. Spaten Oktoberfest. This beer imported from Munich is 5.9% alcohol by volume, and has a very full flavor, and excellent taste. www.spatenbeer.com

The winter beers are out, and there are a few new ones out there. Apparently more brewing companies are going with winter beers. The one I'm enjoying now is Flying Dog Brewery's K-9 Winter Warmer. Flying Dog has really eye catching labels and great names for their beers; (for example, they have a beer called "Raging Bitch" which packs a punch). Anyway the Winter Warmer is an ale with cardamom, vanilla bean, and cocoa. I can't taste the cocoa, which I wondered about(sometimes if a beer is flavored, for me, it makes it too strong or too sweet). 7.4% alcohol by volume, and a very good taste. Recommended.
