Originally the Season 6 finale was going to be a a third "Master Ninja" compilation, but BBI decided that since it would be Frank Conniff's last episode, it would have been more fitting to feature one of Frank's favorite movie genres. Frank is a huge fan of Mexican wrestling films, hence "Samson Vs the Vampire Women" being chosen as the Season 6 finale. My question is would you have preferred a third "Master Ninja" episode or did they do right with choosing "Samson"? I personally think they made the right decision; "Samson" is a classic episode and perfect for the series. Plus, a little "Master Ninja" goes a long way and it had been three seasons since they had last featured it; methinks that by that time most MSTies would have forgotten about MN.

Although MN 1 & 2 are two of my very favorite experiments (probably both of them are in my personal top 20) I would not change a thing about Samson. It was/is a great episode with a lot going for it.
Now...I may have liked a MN 3 in place of, say...423 Bride of the Monster (1955). This was NOT one of my favorite episodes, still near enough to the end of season 3 (season 4 end, yes?) and would have more than likely offered more laughs, imnsho.

I like Samson and wouldn't "trade" it for MN3.
That being said, I wish they would have done MN3 at some point, just because I loved the first two, and would have loved to have seen what the Comedy Central Mike era would have done with it.

Glad they went with Samson, but also am very curious how Master Ninja 3 would have been handled. I really like Master Ninja 1, but 2 is a little slow for me because there are not as many great ninja moments like Van Cleef reaching through a windshield and yanking out the wheel.
But if I could switch any episode post-Season three for Master Ninja 3, I would say goodbye (and not really because it is probably my least favorite episode) to 401 Space Travelers in a heartbeat. Plus, what better what to start a new season than with a chubby old ninja?
One can only dream of a Master Ninja Christmas special.

Sorry for the easy answer, but my 'trade-in' episode would be "Hamlet".

I've watched Master Ninja III on YouTube, it should've been done. If not for 624, then in place of 623-Amazing Transparent Man, a very forgettable episode.

I think that Samson was a perfect choice for Frank's last episode and the season 6 finale. However, instead of the atrocious Space Travelers kicking off season 4, Master Ninja III should have been the season premiere.

Master Ninja I and II were really tough going for me -- plodding, dull, yet not quite "bad" enough -- so I, for one, was overjoyed to see that Frank's final show was going to feature a Mexican wrestler flick. Samson Vs The Vampire Women became one of my instant favorites for a lot of reasons, but especially because of the scene where Samson comes casually moseying into the Tormented Chick's Dad's study fully decked out in his wrestling regalia -- and Mike'n'the Bots' reaction. They're all over this one like a dog with an old shoe, and it's a joy to watch.

However, instead of the atrocious Space Travelers kicking off season 4, Master Ninja III should have been the season premiere. Not to beat on this old riff too much, but Space Travelers is one of two or three movies I would've gladly bumped in favor of a re-riff of SST Death Flight. They re-did a bunch of old KTMA movies in Season 3, and sadly, SST Death Flight wasn't among them. I would've totally lost Time Of The Apes or Space Travelers to make room for it.

Sorry for the easy answer, but my 'trade-in' episode would be "Hamlet". Heh, I was thinking the same thing. "Samson" is a hilarious episode. The two Master Ninja episodes..... they're okay, but not gutbusters, so I don't know how MN 3 would have been for a season finale. I think the reason they didn't try to riff MN 3 later on down the line is because Season 7 got shortened, lessening the amount of films they could choose from, and then came the Sci-Fi Channel era, and Sci-Fi's execs wouldn't have really approved of MN 3, since it has nothing to do with science-fiction (although they were able to do "Agent of HARM" and "Riding with Death" in Season 8). And then.... by season 10 (when the "only sci-fi/fantasy movies" rule was lifted), The Brains may have just forgotten about it.

Why so much hate for "Space Travelers"? (AKA "Marooned") It's unquestionably the only "real" movie they got to do in the early years, and great chance for Crow to show off his killer Peck impression. Hamlet is definitely disposable. Not sure I've even watched it since it first aired.

I don't think it's the episode itself that people hate, it's just people don't like the movie "Marooned" itself, finding the film kind of overrated.

I have watched the Master Ninja episodes more than any others - I love them. Absolutely crushing to me that they didn't go with MN3. I didn't like Samson that much. I'm still holding out hope that Rifftrax or the MST3K reboot takes on MN3.

Oh man, gut punch revelation for a big time Master Ninja eps fan. Both so, so good. The shame of it is Season 4 was mostly disappointing as a whole, spared by a few killer eps at the end. Take your pick of bottom-of-the-barrel episodes to have swapped a Master Ninja 3 installment for:
401 Space Travelers 405 Being From Another Planet 409 Indestructible Man 421 Monster A-Go-Go
GRUMBLE, GRUMBLE...
