Are there just not going to be DVD releases for Astral Factor, Doll Squad, & Samson and the Seven Miracles of the World? Never had a chance to see them live. *sigh* What kind of a world is this!?

Good point, crispy. Seems like the demand would be there. Also seems like they'd be releasing at least one of them now.

Yeah I'm becoming resigned to the idea that these wont be released. We've not heard a peep about recording any of them during recent interviews.
It's a bummer, I hate that there are 3 riffed movies I'll never get to see.

Yeah, there's only one final live riff left: The Doll Squad at the end of December, but there's been no mention whether it will be recorded. Very sad.

Yeah, there's only one final live riff left: The Doll Squad at the end of December, but there's been no mention whether it will be recorded. Very sad. It is. Especially if you are in an area that they didn't visit often. I hate not seeing any new DVD releases because I like to watch the shows in the comfort of my home, because I am not very fond of crowds, and I like to take things at my own pace. Oh, well.

Most recent news I heard on the matter was there were no plans to release any more DVDs. No reason was given for that decision. It probably just doesn't pay enough for them to do it. I'm still looking for a copy of the Alien Factor to complete my CT library (glad Rattlers was restocked on Amazon). Has anyone used the EZTakes websites for the download of Alien Factor? For some reason, I don't want to get involved with EZTakes.

I used EZTakes early on. No problems at all.

I'm bummed there will be three unreleased shows, especially since I live in Oklahoma and never got the chance to see the crew live. It's a shame they don't even release them in some donwloadable form, at least.

I don't think they actually taped/recorded/filmed them. I noticed on their site that they'd always mention if a certain performance was going to be recorded for release. It was never mentioned for these shows. When CT would play Chicago I came to every show. Then they stopped. I know the venue where they played closed, but they couldn't find another? I was pretty darn bummed. Was never able to attend any of their other dates--just too far away. Sadness, sadness.

I don't suppose getting back together for studio-made versions will be happening?

I still hold out hope for studio DVDs but I wouldn't bet on it.

Alien Factor is back in stock on Amazon now as well. I also bought the EZ takes version and it worked well, but I think I'll pick up a hard copy too now that it's back in stock.

I know I'm a little late in weighing in, but here's the information on the 3 episodes that were riffed live but don't have a corresponding DVD.
Sampson and The Seven Miracles ran into licensing issues, and was only riffed once live, I believe.
No recordings (officially) were ever made of Doll Squad or Astral Factor (which is a shame, because Astral Factor was one of my favorites and I only got to see it live ONCE!)
No plans are in place (and I personally don't think there ever will be) of riffing the last two movies in a studio environment for distribution. But never say never, right?

Interesting update, thanks, RAD! I've fallen so behind in my CT collection it's sad. It's too bad it looks grim for those releases, but at least those who could make those live shows will have a particularly special memory. Still hoping for a release of those two, but there are others I need to pick up, too, so I'll start with that

In an interview at The Museum of Broadcast Communications late last year, during the Q/A session some fellow asked about future CT DVD releases and Joel said a simple "sure, I think it's really likely" (that they would be released eventually). The question is asked at about the 39:00 minute mark.
Joel particularly seems annoyed during the Q/A portion of this. Maybe just a little cranky, kind of un-Joel like honestly. Although, some of the questions were absolute duds and I might have had the same reaction.
