There be a certain growl to everyone's voice today... a certain timbarrr if ye will...
Oh, frabjous day, it do be today! It be International Talk Like A Pirate Day! Ye've not yet missed it, the day's still in progress... I've been plyin' me trade at th' radio station with piratey shanties o'er the airwaves. How've ye been celebratin'?
My web-fu skills be failin' me, as I could locate narry a hide nor hair of Peter Sarrrsgaarrrrd's pirate convention sketch on SNL.

I missed this holy day yet again.
I made up for it though by attacking joggers with a sword.

I missed this holy day yet again. I made up for it though by attacking joggers with a sword. Yer on the right track, matey. The real lesson o' Talk Like A Pirate Day isn't t'talk like a Pirate for a day, but to live the life of talkin' like a pirate in our hearts all year 'round!

See I'd just rather kill people on the high seas and take their stuff.

See I'd just rather kill people on the high seas and take their stuff. Sadly, it's Talk Like A Pirate Day, not Act Like A Pirate Day. They're not the same day.

You live in Chicago, I'm pretty sure you're fine to go with random pillaging. It's not like Rahm will mind.

That's not the derring-do that I'd expect from freshwater pirates.

You don't get many derrings in Lake Michigan. Mostly alewives.
Scores and scores of dead alewives.
