Around this time every year we usually have one of these thread: which MST3K experiment(s) do you usually watch on Halloween? I'm afraid I only have one and it's not very original: Manos.

Ahh, yeah. Halloween was made for MST3K:
- The Unearthly - Attack Of The Giant Leeches - Tormented - Bride Of The Monster - Manos, The Hands Of Fate - The Brain That Wouldn't Die - Samson Vs The Vampire Women - The Brute Man - The Giant Spider Invasion - The Screaming Skull - Blood Waters Of Dr. Z

That's a tricky question, and it really depends what you're going for. There's a lot of Halloween appropriate films that work as a good background thing, but... if you want something to really celebrate with, it's hard to find something that gets into the spirit of dressing up in garish costumes of monsters and evil spirits and celebrating candy.
Except maybe, I dunno, Santa Claus. Pitch is almost perfect for that.
Oh! Prince Of Space. I'll say Prince Of Space. It even has a monstrous "giant" in a badly fitting costume for, like, twenty seconds.

The Creeping Terror was a really good one for Halloween.

That's so weird, I just watched Giant Leeches. It really is a trippy film and everybody can compete to be the best Liz for a costume contest!

i watched zombie nightmare last night. really enjoyed it, as i have not viewed any mst3k for a few months. probably all summer, really. but i always run the same ones every year in october for halloween, saving samson vs. the vampire women for the end of the month. i'd like to squeeze in werewolf, the undead, hobgoblins and the screaming skull before halloween, if i can.

I like classic ghost stories for Halloween, so Tormented would be my choice. Seeing Joel drop famous singers from a lighthouse is icing on the cake.

I've been watching one ep a week in "honor" of Halloween.
Last week: I Was A Teen-Age Werewolf This Week: Tormented Next Week: Werewolf Halloween Week: The Brain That Wouldn't Die
In the past, I've also thrown The Unearthly and The Touch of Satan into the mix, so you might want to consider those as well.

i always forget about tormented. i'm going to add that to the rotation, as well as the incredible melting man, if i can.
last night i watched werewolf. wurrwolf. some of the worst acting i've ever seen in or outside of mst3k.
i is a jerrrk!

"The Incredible Melting Man", it's more terrifying that someone thought turning a parody movie into a serious Horror movie half way through was a good idea. But still a good choice.

finished melting man last night. it's gross, but a funny experiment. i especially like the host segs of pearl and dr. f jerking crow around as they destroy earth vs. soup. i love how that must mirror their own experience putting on mst3k the movie. i always crack up at the way pearl is yelling BECCA! at the end. mary jo just nailed that part of a heartless, soulless agent.
as for the movie; perfect 70's movie. i never fail to laugh my ass off at the part where judy's mother and boyfriend stupidly wander into a dark lemon grove at night - seriously? i would have liked to hear the writers come up with that. ...how could we kill off judy's mother and that turtle she's dating - couldn't melting man accost them as they are getting out of their car? no, lets have them wander senselessly into someone's private property for some reason. yeah! perfect!
one riff jumped out at me i haven't noticed before - when they are blowing the wad on special effects at the end when steve is melting away to nothing, mike says something along the lines of "the best thing to do with the ebola virus is to just let it run its course."
favorite riff: when judy's mother looks around with that funny look on her face and crow (in a perfect old lady voice) says: who let one!??

That's what keeps me from loving this episode. Oh, boo-friggin'-hoo, Best Brains; you had a rough time making the movie! Well, you should have known what you were getting into when you agreed to make the movie. Hollywood has been a profitable business for almost a century; you were a local TV show in the Midwest that only lasted ten years. You shouldn't have brought your petty grievances into the show. The movie sucked anyway, so nut the hell up!

wow. in that case, i love those host segs even more. if i have to choose between the faceless community of people who aren't always kind in helping others achieve dreams and the funny, smart & creative people at mst3k, i'm gong to choose them every time. and i happen to like the movie.

It's weird that a show that features so much Sci-Fi seems to have more of a Thanksgiving following. lol
I don't really watch on Halloween. I'm looking forward to the Turkey Day marathon this year though.

Being From Another Planet. It's the only episode with Halloween-themed host segments (haunted house, etc) and a Halloween-themed movie. It's the only logical answer.
