to buy volume 9 off ebay. somebody slap me! Now all I am missing is that dang godzilla episode..... I just picked up Vol. 30, so I'm still a few behind. SF releases them so quickly that I can't stay on top of things! That's a good thing though. I lucked out big-time with Volume 10, finding a solitary copy at Best Buy months after it was pulled. Most I ever dropped on a set was $80, for I wanna say, Vol. 2.

Same thing happened with me and Best Buy, but more like two to three weeks after it was pulled. Couldn't believe it. If only I hadn't opened it Easily the most valuable MST3K set I own.

I have every set so far, minus 10.2 since I got 10 in a local video store the day it was released . I was certainly glad when Rhino made The Giant Gila Monster available by itself. I picked up a few of the VHS releases back in the day, but not The Amazing Colossal Man since I had my own taped version. Ah, well. I'm undecided if I'm going to get the re-release of Volume 1, but we'll see. On the original set I have actually flipped the disc over and watched the uncut Skydivers several times. Hey, I survived. I've been copying all the sets, watching the copies, and have the originals put away, and they are going to stay put away.

I really, really need to pick up the slack on these. I've got, like, two of the sets, but I just keep being low on funds.

I found a copy of Volume 10 at Borders about a month after its release (wasn't even looking to buy it at the time), but since it was marked down I decided to buy it on the spot. Damn glad I did.

I would totally buy the re-release of Volume 1.... but there seems to be almost no incentive. A couple of new extras or interviews are not enough, IMO. If they would at least make individual mini cases (mini posters would be a bonus too) for each episode like they normally do with their volumes, it would be enough for me to justify the purchase. But instead, they are just going to package all the discs in a bulkier 4 disc case. The only thing that would make me purchase it now is if it turns out the audio quality for Catalina Caper is improved, since the movie audio is impossibly hard to hear on my copy for some reason. I think that just be how the master is, though. How much did the volume 9 DVD sell per say? Far too much ... but less than I've seen it sold for before! How much would you guess?

I seriously lucked out around 2010, someone was selling the entire Rhino DVD collection in one lot for $400. I had been meaning to buy all of them, but never got around to it, and suddenly, with V 9 & 10 being OOP at that point, I bit. So grateful I did, cuz they have only gone up in price. Since then, I've pre-ordered, or ordered all the SF sets soon after release.
It would be tremendous if SF continued re-releasing the Rhino sets, but it may take a while. I suppose the sales of this Vol. 1 re-release will dictate how many they would potentially sell of future volumes.

I suppose the sales of this Vol. 1 re-release will dictate how many they would potentially sell of future volumes. Which makes me even more surprised that they aren't releasing them in slim cases for each disc like the normal shout releases. Because I really think it would sell better if they did that. Make it uniform..

That's the one. Nice detective work It just arrived today. The outer slip case is slightly worn on the edges, and there are a couple of tiny tiny scratches on the discs. I am happy with the purchase. Especially since I've seen a used case go for $300+ most of the time.

I feel your pain. I bought it a couple of summers ago to complete my collection for ~$100 or so. My copy is a lovingly worn.
