I just saw that Baron Vaughn is coming to my town next month for a standup show. Tickets are only $10.
I'm going to take my Amazing Colossal Episode Guide (signed by everyone from RiffTrax/Cinematic Titanic) and have him be the first member of the new cast to sign it.

I remember getting the postcard in the mail and there was one signature that confused me, someone named Rebecca. I raced my brain trying to figure out who this woman was, from just a behind the scenes produce/writer to perhaps the new voice of Gypsy or another bot. But with minor tidbits and photos from the new premiere (specifically a cast list on a poster), I think we finally know for sure...
Gypsy is now voiced by Rebecca Hanson!
I looked up the name on IMDB to find credits on her, but they have two Rebecca Hansons listed, both with one credit each. One who was in a 2001 short film called Play Ball, and another for a 2016 film called Of Minor Prophets. If it's either one, it's most likely the latter, but it could be a different Rebecca altogether.

Even better, it's a podcast so you can hear her voice! popfurypodcast.com/116-rebecca-tim/WholetServodrive was right. She sounds like an FM DJ, like Delilah. Nothing particularly "Gypsy" about her.

She sounds more like a contender for Magic Voice than Gypsy. This may be the most striking voice change yet- but I'm sure people will get used to it.

If I need to justify it to myself I'll just say that there's been a memory upgrade to the SOL so that running the ship won't be so distracting.

Maybe Gypsy spent money from ConGypsCo to treat herself to some upgrades!

As much as I love Gypsy and her classic voice I understand how it could be a hurdle to expanding her character and giving her more dialog. It's also good to have one of the show's few female characters actually played by a woman.
... of course, speaking of the 'classic voice': only the basics of Gypsy's voice were retained throughout the first 10 seasons: the performance style changed dramatically.

Did they ever say how they came up with the name Kinga?

I am certainly cool with Gypsy being more intelligent because that fits with the fact the characters' intelligence improved gradually a great deal across the shows 10 season run. Also I am fine with the reasons for her being voice by a woman, I just hope that her voice is still Gypsyish.....after all we still want her to feel like the same character, even if she has evolved somewhat!

So it seems to be that most people are still having a hard time hearing difference between Jonah and Servo's voices. I have a hard time with that myself though it doesn't bug me too much. But if I they were to try and find a way to address the issue in the next season, I think they could experiment with one of three things with Servo's voice: -Have Baron try speaking with a lower voice than his usual voice, kinda like how Crow's voice sounds more nasal-y. -Digitally alter his voice by lowering the pitch by a note or two, but keeping it the same speed. -Or, alter it by adding a subtle flange or what have you to the voice to make it sound more "robotic". The key would be to tweak the voice so it's almost the same, but just different enough from Jonah's so that it's less confusing in the theater. Perhaps in the season premiere they could say Jonah tweaked Servo's voice modulator (sort of like in the Josh-to-Kevin transition) because Crow kept getting their voices confused, as a meta joke. Waverly What do you think? Are the crew aware of this and thinking about ideas on how to address it?

Did they ever say how they came up with the name Kinga? I know this is two weeks later, but Joel addressed this in the post-premiere Q&A. Apparently there are a lot of Kingas in Minnesota. Joel liked the idea of Dr. Forrester eventually starting a rather plain Norwegian family in the state.

I honestly haven't had all that but difficulty telling Servo nd Jonah's voices apart, on the other hand it took me a bit of time getting used to how the voice is nowhere was deep as his predecessors. However by episode 2 I really didn't have that much of a problem with it, so it's something I got used to pretty quickly.

Hampton is doing a great job as Crow. He's like a cross between Trace and Bill, but yet has made the character his own. I find myself laughing the most at his jokes, could be the delivery.
Jonah and Servo are fine.
Not liking Gypsy at this point, I wish the voice was a little less just like some woman talking. (Nothing against Rebecca, of course).
