Yes, the MSTieCast lives. Well, to be fair, it never actually DIED. For those who remember, I do a Mystery Science Theater podcased called "the MSTieCast", in which we speak to fans large and small, discuss episodes and occasionally interview those who brought us those wonderfully bad movies. The show began on this very board, though for one reason or another, the thread just stopped being updated. The show continued on though; we recently completed our 64th episode discussing the Kickstarter. However, the last post about the show was made by our host Justin two years ago; far too long for a simple topic bump. To that end, I've decided to create a new thread entirely, to post future episodes and field questions but (in all honestly) more importantly to advertise our latest interview. When Jonah Ray was announced as the new bejumpsuited fool aboard the Satellite of Love, it was right after we had recorded said 64th episode, and therefore made some of the points obsolete. Regardless, I extended a warm welcome to him on Twitter. Imagine my surprise when Mr. Ray (or "Heston", as he will soon be known) asked to appear on the show! We established contact and, tomorrow night at 8pm Eastern Standard Time, he will be interviewed by our team! If you would like to submit a question for Jonah Ray, feel free to post it in this thread, or via the Ask page on our website, our Facebook, or even send us an email!

I wish I could think of a good question for him... I'll see if I can come up with something.
By the by, if you get a similar chance to send questions to Hampton Yount, I'll probably jump on those as I've got a few about his work on the Rob & Elliot webcomic. Perhaps not topical to MST3K, but always good to take such chances as they come.

The interview is here! Jonah was extremely nice, humble and funny, and we are deeply honored that he joined us for an episode. We look forward to speaking to him again in the future!

We have an interview with Mark Hurtado scheduled for this Monday the 15th. Mr. Hurtado played Ernest Borgnine's Grandson in Merlin's Mystical Shop of Wonders (so you know the episode will have lots of fru fru fun for the whole family). As always we want your questions. If you would like to submit a question for Mr. Hurtado, feel free to post it in this thread, The Mstiecast Thread, Private message it to myself or via the Ask page on our website, our Facebook, or even send us an email!

That was really cool. He sounds like a very nice guy. He doesn't seem to hold any grudges toward MST3K, even if he admits it's not his cup of tea. I knew he and Joel had run into each other and it was cool to hear about their interaction from his point of view. I found the stuff about his dad speaking Lakota and growing up in South Dakota particularly interesting. He apparently grew up a long way from where I live in the state, but he graduated from my alma mater, USD, which is just weird. The stuff you learn on the Mstiecast! Another good one, guys. Keep it up!

If we use it we'll be sure to credit you for the idea.

I just got done with a four hour interview with a very interesting guest. It's someone who has a big connection to MST but wasn't on the show and wasn't in any of the films. The next episode of the Mstiecast is dedicated to Film Ventures International. At the end of the episode there will be a special preview of the big interview revealing who the guest is. Til then, feel free to speculate.
