So, does anyone else watch Wander Over Yonder? I confess I have a weakness for Disney Channel's current run of cartoons... they're just really well done... and the latest episode, The Cartoon, proved that the writers and animators have good taste, I think. Basically, the villain of the show, Lord Hater, created a propaganda cartoon to help his standing in the galaxy, and most of the episode revolved around him, his second in command, and the two minions who made the cartoon watching it in a theater, complete with MST3K style theater seats.
Lots of other great shout outs and outright parodies to some of the weirdest animation styles out there in the episode, too.

I need to see that episode now! Well, if you've got cable or satellite TV or something that shouldn't be too hard. I think Disney XD will play it in semi-regular reruns (the episode in particular is called The Cartoon and is paired with another episode that I think was called The Bot). If you, like me, don't have cable, then you might need to catch it online. Which... well, it's tough. Technically they occasionally put episodes online for fans to see, but I don't think they've changed the episode that's up there now in months. Oh, and for the record: there's a much earlier episode called The Prisonier (which is paired with an episode called The Good Deed) where you get a glimpse of the hallway to Lord Hater's room in his spaceship. It's all-but a direct shout-out to MST3K's hallway sequences while going through that hall. The visual only lasts five seconds or so, but its a definite MST3K shout-out. Still, not an entire episode of a shout-out like The Cartoon is.
