Okay. On a more positive note . Are there any songs out there that you don't mind hearing no matter how many times you hear them? There are songs that give you ear worms and get on your nerves, but how about those that, even if they've been worming through your head, if the actual song comes on the radio, or if you happen to be on Youtube or something, you just think, hey, I'll listen to that tune, sure. (Even if it's for the millionth time). I don't mind anytime "That Thing You Do" from the movie of the same name comes on, strangely enough. It's upbeat and catchy even if it's a guilty pleasure. Same with "On the Dark Side" by John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band. They kind of have that stigma from the Eddie and the Cruisers movies, even though I think the songs themselves (from both movies) are really good and have that old fashioned, honest-to-goodness rock and roll sound. John Cafferty sounds like Bruce Springstein WOULD sound if he could carry a tune. Heh. Sorry, Bruce, but ya can't sing. And I like almost anything from The Monkees. And this:

I like this, too.
I think one of the most re-playable albums in history has to be Meatloaf's Bat Out of Hell. Not a clunker on it. Ironically, the only song I wouldn't want to listen to repeatedly is the one that had the most air play and was the most main stream: Two Out of Three Ain't Bad. Still a good song, but I'd pass on listening to it until a bit of time went by.

Speaking of Jim Steinman songs:
From the oh-so-80's movie, Streets of Fire.
Edit: I want that car at 1:07.

Of course, I always think of Chuck when I listen to this.
I guess I could just put these in "now playing.." but, oh well.

When I first heard bits and pieces of this on the radio, I thought it was David Byrne.

Okay, I know, some must be thinking, enough with the Hanson videos, heh. A few years ago I was watching some music videos on Youtube and a somewhat new(ish), for the time, Hanson video popped up on the side, and I thought, oh, I haven't seen anything from these guys in years. So, I clicked on the video, and I liked it, so whenever one would pop up, I would watch them sporadically. Lately, I've just been on a jag. They're quite addictive. I've been watching their behind-the-scenes making-of videos, and they're just funny and always look like they are having a good time.
This one popped up, and I had to include it in this thread because I really love this song.
Edit: He is RIDICULOUSLY good looking.

Blind Guardian - Wait for an Answer
The lead singer said it was based on a story about the unusual friendship between a fox and a hare who try to prevent some genocide by a tribe of crows. I still don't understand it, but I listen to it a lot.

^^^^ Yeah, I don't quite get that either. Sounded like they were giving both points of view, the crows and the ones trying to stop them. (?) I liked the chorus. It sounded like it could be quite mystical if it were a quieter song. Heavy metal isn't my thing, that was too much noise for me, but I liked the song itself, if you get me. I'm pretty sure I have misophonia - that condition where certain sounds bother you, like, A LOT. Not diagnosed, don't know if they even can diagnose that or not, but, I'm guessing I have it in spades. Certain sounds just drive me bonkers and make me want to shoot out speakers or something. If I have to be in a store or restaurant for any length of time and I'm being force fed other people's idea of "music" I really can't stand it. A lot of pop songs today do that to me, it's just basically noise. Large groups of people talking at once, I can't take that after a while, not just in like a restaurant, but even at family gatherings, I'm just thinking, "One at a time!". Even children's voices do that to me. If they start talking and whining and whatnot, I just want to yell at them to STFU. The whining I'm guessing bothers a lot of people, but just them TALKING bothers me. Something about young, high pitched, scratchy voices or something. Even one of the songs I put on here, myself, - the Great Defector one by Bell X1, I like that song but I'm not crazy about the very beginning music.

Gotta go with the Steve Earle Classic. Hard for me to believe that it was released almost 32 years ago now. Quite a few folks didn't know what genera to put the song in. Is it country rock, country, rock or what? Steve said at one time if I remember the interview correctly. That he called it Bluegrass Metal. That works for me...
