Alright, my friends, what are some shows that have gotten critical and/or audience acclaim, that you don't get or just plain don't like? Since I brought up the subject I'll give you my list. (Oh, by the way, this can be any TV show, past or present)
The Big Bang Theory-I just want to hit that jerk Sheldon so freaking hard, and really i don't consider the show funny in the least.
30 Rock- I can't explain this one, I tried to watch it, but I just couldn't stand it. Maybe I'm just weird.
Seinfeld- Is it my imagination or was everyone on this show a miserable person? Maybe it's just me, but I certainly found almost everyone to be a jerk.
Full House-So cloyingly sweet it could give you tooth decay.
2 Broke Girls- Nasty wenches being nasty is just not funny to me.

The first show that comes to mind is Heroes. I tried to get into that show so hard but it was a dundering mess. And that first season was supposed to be the GOOD one. I don't want to know how crappy the bad ones were.
I echo sentiments about the Big Bang Theory. It's a bunch of unlikable characters dropping name references to nerd culture without there being an actual joke.

Everybody Loves Raymond - no, everybody does NOT. King of Queens - never saw anything funny, so I couldn't get into it. Arrested Development - Could never watch a full episode, I just had no interest. The new "Odd Couple". I don't know as it's gotten any acclaim, but I think I heard they picked it up for another season. Just awful. Battlestar Gallactica. The new version, of course. (Though the old one was pretty dopey ). I actually watched it all anyway, just to see what happened (not every episode). But to me it was just a bland bunch of nothingness. Likewise for Stargate SG1.

Arrested Development - Could never watch a full episode, I just had no interest. It took me a long time to articulate just what my problem with AD was, and it's this: The writers of this show were tryingentirely too hard to create something that would go down in history as a quiky cult classic, and the end product just struck me as really forced and calculated.

Alright, my friends, what are some shows that have gotten critical and/or audience acclaim, that you don't get or just plain don't like? Since I brought up the subject I'll give you my list. (Oh, by the way, this can be any TV show, past or present) This is the perfect kind of thread to drive a wedge between board members and create a general atmosphere of animosity and disgust. Already several of you have made egregious errors in judgement. So I better get going and make my own! Dallas Long-running soap, watched by millions. Hated it, never got it (along with Dynasty and similar shows). Probably, mostly, because it meant Knight Rider was over and bedtime was getting close. Later in life I argued regularly with a college roommate over whether to watch Dallas or reruns of the original Star Trek. Yeah, we were wild. MASH Widely-loved and renowned. Never got it. Hated the dialogue delivery and that unreal laugh track. And that theme song - instant channel flip. I'm guessing I was a bit too young for this one. Doctor Who I know there's no way I can judge the entire run of Doctor Who having only seen maybe a half-dozen episodes that aired on PBS in the 80s, but I hated pretty much everything I saw of those episodes. Even for a 10-year-old kid the effects and sets were beyond garbage at a time when I wasn't ready to appreciate the show for its merits beyond that. I'm still not ready to appreciate it or any of its forms. These all stem from experiences way back, but there's plenty of modern crap out there, too.

Definitely on the side of those who aren't down with Arrested Development. It's cute, but there was nothing about it worth watching more than once. I'm also one of the few who isn't into MASH. I respect it more than I enjoy it.
But the one series I forgot to include is the The Munsters. IT'S FUNNY BECAUSE THEY'RE MONSTERS ACTING LIKE PEOPLE! No. No it really isn't.

M*A*S*H* was my first, adult, must see TV show and it'll always hold a place in my heart. But it's not the same watching it today. And a lot of TV is like that, they belong to time and place and when they are done, they are done. St. Elsewhere's another example of a show I adored that I can't get through in reruns.
I don't watch a lot of TV anymore, but the Netflix series Daredevil was the most overrated pile I've seen recently. There's a LOT of padding in the story, and the actors stink. Foggy and Karen were excruciating. There were a string of eps that had scenes where Karen would go to Matt and whine about how sad she was that he and Foggy were no longer pals. Then she'd find Foggy and whine about how sad she was that he and Matt were no longer pals. Then we see her at the office, with one of the others.... and she would proceed to whine some more about the same goddamned thing she's been whining about ad nauseam!
Even the actor playing Fisk, with his distracted, spacey mannerisms got tiresome. By the end, sitting through an episode was like pulling teeth.

i'm the same as MJ on m*a*s*h. it was my first grown up show i watched as a kid. i had a crush on hawkeye pierce. and gomez from the addams family. one of the funniest things i ever saw on futurama was when they had the robot doctor that was like hawkeye - wore a robe and carried a martini glass around. he told corny jokes until it was time to get serious, so he'd flick his switch to sad and starting crying and yelling about war being hell, etc. but i only like the eps of m*a*s*h from the first couple of seasons, with the original cast. and the laugh track sucks, but i understand you can turn if off on the dvds.
2 broke girls - crap. i HATE that show. i guess i'm getting to that age - i don't see how it's funny; it's too crude and stupid. just what i remember my dad saying about shows i liked when i was in my 20's. i can't believe it's as popular as it is.
how i met your mother - i recognize it's success and popularity. the times i watched parts of it i could see it. but i just never could get into it.
i know what you mean about dallas, mod. i knew that was the end of my favorite friday night shows.

Totally with the OP on Seinfeld. I love Jerry Seinfeld. I love his stand-up. I love "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee". I cannot stand the show Seinfeld. I am on record with many of my Seinfeld loving friends as feeling that if I had a group of friends that were, at all, like the characters in that show I would have had to murder them.
I also agree with 2 Broke Girls...man that show is so completely unfunny.
I don't think Key & Peele are that good or funny either.
Almost anything that can be classified as "reality TV"....Bachelor(ette), Survivor, Big Brother, Dance Moms, blah, blah, blah etc. Shows like that, IMHO, just seem to highlight and glorify some of the worst aspects of current pop-culture (example - "insta-fame") and human behavior in general.

Gotta Be The Office. Where are the Jokes?
That 70s Show. I've never liked the "Boy the past sure was wacky" sitcom trope.
Family Guy. That show's just unpleasant.

oh man, do i loathe family guy. and american dad. and the cleveland show. ugh.
i liked the first couple of seasons of that 70's show, but it didn't take long for them to give up on the premise and just be a show about kids that remind me of irritating hipster kids dressing like it's the 70's.
and i can't believe i left out the scourge that is reality tv. i despise it. i watch tv to escape reality. and it's not even reality. it's ruining tv and a whole generation of kids thinking getting knocked up would be a great way to start their television career.

oh man, do i loathe family guy. and american dad. and the cleveland show. ugh. Testify. I can't stand Modern Family, and I have never seen an episode. Just the promos, and they are awful! I'm pretty sure a promo is supposed to show you some good parts and make you want to see more but they are so terrible! It seems so. ....augh...the word I want doesn't exist. I know what I mean, but there isn't a word. The closest I cane come is self-righteously clever. I get the feeling that the show is congratulating itself with every "quip". And it appears the format is that fake documentary thing like The Office. Blaw.

Everybody Blows Raymond i always call it that, god i hate that show i like the cast but the show itself sucks ass. Arrested Development i watched the 1st episode because it was on some best buy free dvd i picked up like 10 years ago or more when it i think 1st came to dvd. and it was flapjacksing awful. i know pilots can be terrible but that one was bad i think the rest of the series is like that and i have no desire to see it. the big bang theory=- great theme song cause i love the barenaked ladies but terrible show that i've never been able to even laugh or even smirk at one joke. how is it still on the air?
all reality shows, i can get into Hoarders and i'm for the ones that help people lose weight, and well hoarders the rest can all go away like it was a bad fart. Heroes i like but i do also think the 1st season took awhile for you to get into it because it starts off soo damn slow.
i hate all comedies today because they simply aren't funny anymore i hate today's comedy writers because they simply try too damn hard. now i love Castle that's a show that had Romance, Comedy, action and drama all into one through various episodes. some where mostly comedy episodes but it had serious things in it since each episode someone does die at the start of the show. that's comedy that's well written.
these days i still to drama and mystery shows. like i love Once upon a time and that's fantasy yeah but i enjoy it.
The Office though is a show i really hate to death. yeah i know the UK version is suppose to be better i have no desire to watch it cause i hate that type of humor. i don't get it. i watched some of one or two episodes when it was still on and later i was telling my brother how bad i think it is, and he loves the show, he said to me you've got to watch the 1st episode to get the jokes. what the flapjacks?
if you want to get into a show that's in say season 5 or rather if nothing else is on and you do get into one that is in season 5. you shouldn't have to watch episode flapjacksing #1 to get the jokes. i didn't laugh once at all hell even the promos looked bad too. not badly put together but it didn't get my interest at all.
Amerlca's got Talent. my mom watches this sometimes uh WHY? i don't give a flapjacks about that show at all, though one time i did see a video from it i was impressed, there was this young kid who was like 20 years old who went on that. he had never sang in front of his family so his family had no idea if he could sing or not. he wanted to be an opera singer an so he trained himself to be one and when he sang he was really damn good. and i'm not that much of a fan of opera either.
that's a to each their own kind of thing but he did blow me away by his voice. i still don't care about the show and think it should go off the air though. so should dancing with my balls as i like to call it. all of those stupid shows should be off the air. so should Survivor which has been on since (2001) when is that going off the air? same thing with the amazing race i know no one who watches these things but they for some reason win emmy's and people believe reality shows are well reality.
no not everyone but a good portion and they refuse to even pay attention that it says at the end of each episode written by so and so. that's fiction if it's written by someone. the ones where they lose weight to be fair is a bit realistic cause they do lose the weight but you gotta have that useless drama which is just plain stupid but than what do i know? sorry about my rant this stuff just really gets to me sometimes that's all

I really dislike most TV. Especially those reality shows. I watch Survivor out of a pure motivation to see assholes get booted out. Most everyone on Survivor is an asshole. But I really loved some TV shows, like MST3K. Hercules: The Lengendary Journeys, Xena: Warrior Princess and I really loved The 4400. Other shows I liked are the Star Trek series.
