As stated in this CW 23 video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHsVCBzh-T0Don't know what this channel is, don't think i have it, but congrats to another network for picking up MST3K reruns. I am sincerely hoping this isn't the network that will be airing the new shows, though.

I'd this replacing the RetroTV deal? This gets slightly better carriage, but still not great.

It's free to stream without a subscription, which instantly makes it better than RetroTV.

Comet TV is an over the air broadcast station. Owned and operated by MGM. So any film in the MGM library can air there. I have gotten this station since earlier this year. I have the habit of just turning my station to Comet TV on Saturday and Sunday. They have broadcast MST3K and Rifftrax movies in the past. Not the riffed versions of course. This month they are advertising The Incredible Melting Man, Gor and its sequel Outlaw of Gor (all unriffed). It will be interesting to see if Comet TV will broadcast only the MGM titles. As of right now all they are is broadcasting MGM TV series like The Outer Limits (60's and 90's reboot) and Stargate SG-1 and MGM movies. They had a Ross Hagen movie last weekend.. Ouch

I caught a commercial for it this morning. They're going to show back-to-back episodes on Sundays 8/7 Central starting September 4th. They did not specify if it was AM or PM.
I was, nonetheless, jumping in excitement.
Couldn't identify all of the episodes shown in the promo, I do recall Killer Shrews. I'm guessing its a mix of MGM and PD titles, tho Comet has been expanding with Warner and independent studios.

Full list of episodes available to Comet is online and wow they have a lot of them. However, they have the Susan Hart and Godzilla episodes listed, so I have a feeling they're not showing all of these episodes but instead are just keeping a guide available. www.comettv.com/show-details/Mystery+Science+Theater+3000/184037/The first episode they're showing is Manos, Sept 4 at 8pm.

Followed by Teenagers from Outer Space at 10:30 p.m. Looks like they are fitting the eps into 2 1/2 hr slots so the shows don't have to be cut to accommodate the modern increase in commercial break times. Unlike Retro, I can actually pull Comet in over antenna, so this will be fun seeing FREE MST3K for, really, the first time on air. I also agree that the guide is for reference sake only, not signaling that the entire library is available for airing.Save

It's great that they're fitting them into 2.5 hour slots. They got quite a bit of complaints when they cut the final act of Terminator to fit it into 2 hours with commercials (while having 10 minutes of promo filler between movies).
Now I just wonder if they'll move the large Comet logo to the left side of the screen.
I do wish there was some way of knowing which episodes they can show. Their episode guide has dates for Manos and Teenagers but I haven't seen dates on any others yet. The next weeks' schedule won't be up til next Monday.

I sent them a message asking if the guide was a list of what they are going to air or just a reference to the show. Their reply wasn't very clear as they told me to just check the schedule to see what the episodes are and as of today the guide is no longer on the site.....
I told them they would probably get a million questions about it..

I watched Manos and half of Teenagers last night. I'm used to watching these on DVD, so long commercial breaks adding a extra hour to the show drives my patience.
There were a few problems. Expectantly, Comet left their logo on the right side of the screen, so it does block Crow some. More annoying is that the episodes were cut. From what I could notice with Manos, they cut out the bit towards the end of the movie where the two women are driving towards the lodge and Tom is babbling on for a whole minute. The worse was during the final host segment, where it cuts half-way through the doorway sequence and right to "what do you think, sirs?". I don't see why they made the cuts, considering it ended with 20 minutes left til the next episode starts.
Otherwise, I enjoyed seeing MST on TV. I look forward to having a regular Sunday night thing now.
