...I guess this does give us something to talk about while we sit around with no news on Season 12...
How's that for a silver lining!

Yeah I've been speculating myself about how the enormous success of the Kickstarter may have been a double edged sword in terms of the show getting a renewal.

I'm very happy with my Season 11 Blu-ray set. Honestly the $200 I pledged would have been worth it JUST for a 14-episode Season set as the sole Kickstarter reward. Everything else (the shirt, keychain, mug, sickers, poster and flash drive) I felt was VERY generous gravy.

Everything else (the shirt, keychain, mug, sickers, poster and flash drive) I felt was VERY generous gravy. That's what really impressed me about the rewards for the campaign. Shout values a single classic episode on DVD at $11-$20 (depending on a new volume release, a reissue Rhino volume or a single), so with that in mind a 14 episode blu-ray would be anywhere from $154-$280. But at the $200 level not only did you get the set, with exclusive bonuses and basically a time capsule of promotional clips from the campaign, but also digital copies, the first two KTMAs, a collection of classic digital episodes, Rifftrax bonuses, a digital music album, the shirt, the mug, the theatrical-sized 2 sided poster, the postcards, stickers, member card, certificate seal, USB and keychain (did I miss anything?). $200 for all that is an insanely good deal.

So has any international backer received their Blu-ray set yet? Still waiting on mine... Mine arrived this morning and I managed to get both my blu-ray set and the mystery gift too, which I thought wasn't going to happen after hearing so many people saying they didn't get their mystery gift.

Did you select the Mystery Gift as the main reward and the BluRay as an add-on? People who didn't get the mystery gift were people who ordered it as the add-on (like me). Which by the way they still haven't resolved. Which is really bad. As an add-on it cost specifically $100 plus shipping. It's hard to say that that was part of the KickStarter fundraising, it was a payment for a specific item that they have yet to deliver. Although, I also have no need for the weird not-really-even-from-the-show figure that is the mystery gift, so sucks either way.

If I recall correctly, I had selected it as the main reward and put the blu-ray set as the add-on. I wasn't aware that people who had put it as the main reward were getting it and those putting it as the add-on weren't. To me it just seemed like some were getting it and others weren't.

New to the board here. Several products were announced for Season 11 (either during the Kickstarter, or in an announcement of licensees) that to the best of my knowledge never got mentioned again. Does anyone know what happened to these?
- Funko vinyl action figures (not POPs) - Insight Editions' "Ultimate Episode Guide" book - MST3K "Making of" book - MST3K "Coffee Table" book

The coffee table book is still in the works. Were vinyl action figures ever announced? I only remember seeing about Pops.

The coffee table book is still in the works. Were vinyl action figures ever announced? I only remember seeing about Pops. Both POPs and "vinyl figures" were mentioned. Here's both press announcements re the licensing deals (bullet list formatting and highlights mine). Note that the Shout Factory version includes Insight Editions' ultimate episode guide, not mentioned in the Dekel announcement: ---------------------------------------------- ‘Mystery Science’ Reveals First LicenseesShout Factory has unveiled the first partners for “Mystery Science Theater 3000” ahead of its season premiere on Netflix. The series’ licensing program is headed by Elie Dekel of Dekel Brands, who has secured partners including: - Dark Horse for serialized comics, graphic novels, coffee table book and gift items;
- Funko for vinyl figures and Funko POP figures;
- Changes for t-shirts, tops and sweatshirts;
- Insight Editions for an ultimate episode guide, trivia books and journals;
- Great Eastern for buttons, patches, stickers, pins, gifts and novelties;
- Just Funky for gifts, beverage/barware, key chains, auto accessories and table-top gifts; and
- Zen Monkey Studios for t-shirts and sweatshirts.
New products will begin rolling out this spring, with new products and licensees set to be revealed throughout the year. “‘MST3K’ is enjoying a new iteration on Netflix for both new audiences and longtime fans alike,” says Joel Hodgson, creator, “MST3K.” “We’re really looking forward to partnering with creative companies who are fans of the show and can capture the zeitgeist of the series with new products and ideas.” Dekel Deals for 'MST3K' MerchDekel Brands and Evolution Management have secured a raft of licensing and merchandising partners for the cult television show “Mystery Science Theater 3000.” Licensed “MST3K” products currently available include - T-shirts from both Changes and Zen Monkey and enamel pins from Zen Monkey.
- “MST3K” trading cards from RR Parks will be released this summer, and
- mugs and fleece throws from Just Funky available through ThinkGeek will debut in November.
More items will be rolling out this summer through the fourth quarter [2017], with new products coming from - Dark Horse (serialized comics, graphic novels, coffee-table book and gift items),
- Funko (vinyl figures, and FUNKO-POP figures),
- Just Funky (collectible items), and
- Great Eastern (buttons, patches, stickers, pins, gifts and novelties).
“MST3K” and its licensees will also be working with specialty retailers to deliver the new merchandise to retailers and e-commerce stores.

Saw this comment in the "MST3K Merchandise Thread", and now I'm worried the poster is on to something. Here's the part that's bugging me, because it might explain the cancelled live shows and the announced-but-MIA merchandise:
--------------- I think perhaps Shout, Netflix, Joel and Co., etc. may be running into a reality check regarding the actual size of the cult following for the thing we all love. Oh, we're dedicated. We'll pony up the cash for a Kickstarter. But there's only so many of us, and there's a reason MST is a niche, acquired taste. Why merchandise was so limited even when the show was on air. ---------------

Putting that quote into context: Kolos was speculating on the cancellation of a Funko Pop that, which we didn't know at the time, was actually the Mystery Gift for the Kickstarter.
Further context: he made the speculative guess that the Pop was cancelled due to low sales, despite the first Funko Pops not having been released yet when he made that claim.
As to whether the show can translate to merchandise sales, maybe/maybe not. Merchandise like that however has thrived on niche audiences before, and will likely again. Bear in mind none of us here know what's happening at Shout Factory's MST headquarters, and especially not Kolos, who has been making these wild speculative claims based on little to irrelevant information since the Kickstarter and has more often than not been wrong. Not saying he necessarily is, but it's always best to take his hyperbole with a grain of salt
