So, how many shots of vodka should we take regarding any tape hits within the episodes?

I'm going to laugh if the Netflix season is covered in tape hits.

"Sorry guys, our 4k SD card wasn't working. That's why there's a lot of hits."

Given the new cast and new sets, Joel didn't want to completely alienate fans of the original run, so he wanted to make sure there was something familiar for them.

First episode...
Jonah: "Crow! Servo! I thought you were living with Mike! How did you get up here?" Crow: "Well you see," (video jumps) "we were having a pleasant day," (audio starts fuzzing) "when all of a sudden..." (video and audio die) ::five minutes of static:: ::video starts back up and they're already in the theater:: Jonah: "...segment with Crow?"

Mike, By Joel is pretty neat - as most expected, it's basically a history told by Joel of how/why Mike initially joined the show, him becoming more and more an onscreen performer, and him eventually taking over the show. Interesting tidbits I had never heard (or maybe I heard at one point but later forgot...):
- one of the ideas pitched by Joel when he was leaving was for Bridget to take over as host, not necessarily as a completely new character, but Joel getting hit by some sort of ray that turned him into a woman.
- Joel sees the evolution of the relationship between the bots and the human moving from the more parent/child relationship with Joel to the less respectful, more mocking relationship with Mike as being born out of the fact that Trace and Kevin were part of the original producers/shareholders of the show from the KTMA days, and sort of needling Mike good-naturedly(?) about him coming into the show after the fact.
Also, watched the interview with the Track of the Moon Beast actress. Seems like a pretty nice person, and she provided some good info about the creation of the movie and her career (of sorts). She seemed happy that MST3K did the movie and enjoyed the episode.
Haven't watched the Invasion USA extra yet.

I kind of wonder why Mike stopped cooperating with Shout on the DVD sets. He is getting a cut of the money through releasing episodes on his own site now.
How's the picture on the DVD's look?

I only watched Track of the Moon Beast. It looked good, but...I fell asleep during the middle section of it, so I might not be the best person to ask...

I opted to order my copy of this set from Amazon this time around (The bonus disc didn't really interest me), so I'll be getting it in about a month from now.

I'm just gonna wait till it hits the shelves in stores.
Meanwhile, for volume 39, I'm just curious to know if Shout is still planning on doing the KTMA bonus disc if they've managed to take the time to restore any segments that had it bad (and maybe find more of the episodes..... *crosses fingers* K03 possibly being one of them?)

My box says copyright "Satellite of Love LLC" on the bottom. Is this a thing we've known about? I assume it was created by Shout to own the rights to MST3K. Interesting that they did it this way. Maybe this is common, I don't know.
It's registered in California as of 02/17/2016 to Robert Emmer, Richard Foos and Garson Foos (founders of Shout).

I think the first appearance of that notice came with the first box set released last year.

I just checked and it looks like set 35 was the first one with Satellite of Love LLC on the box.

Yeah it was soon after the Kickstarter launched that we started seeing that, since Best Brains didn't own the show anymore.
