Soooo.... perhaps if the first two episodes of season zero "go well" perhaps the digital platform for the ktma season would be successful, no need to worry about poor sales if you didn't put on physical media. A download to burn or make on demand DVD would be preferable. Or go for broke, if possible just sell the whole season in one or two boxed sets. Were screwed on gamera but maybe not forever.
But MAN AM I KICKING MYSELF for not pledging more, I opted for higher add on rewards. REGRETS!
Anyone who has these can you download them or just stream them?

My only small gripe, if it can be even called that, is the lack of end credits. Now we'll never know if Joel's hair was done by Mr Crow of Beverly Hills!

I've already got them on my laptop and my phone, and am intending to put them on a flash drive and burn them to DVD as well. I sincerely hope we can refrain from posting them on Youtube for the time being. Knowing this fanbase they'll be up by the end of the day, but I'd hate to disappoint Joel for taking this "special treat for certain people" and whore it out. I hope those who haven't seen them can be patient. Copies of these will come in time (and are undoubtedly already being made and put into tape trading rotation), and you've waited 28 years. A little longer isn't going to hurt.

I suggest that we bring up that Mallon used clips from K03 before and see if we can get a update on its whereabouts. While I believe they honestly do know the answer to this question I don't think anyone is going to get a real answer out of them prior to whenever they decide to release any future materials.

The coincidental nature of them only finding the first two episodes combined with the winking press release verbiage is nudging me in the conspiracy theory direction.

Anybody else having issues logging into the VHX site? It keeps telling me the email/login I signed up for Kickstarter with is "not found" and even the page to report an issue isn't working. EDIT:I dug back through my kickstarter emails and found the link thingy. Nevermind!

Okay folks, I've finished Revenge of the Mysterons from Mars. Some random thoughts:
Maybe this is something I've never noticed before due to crappy VHS recordings on other KTMA episodes, but during this particular episode I felt like I could see through the Shadowrama at several points and make out features on the riffers. This is most noticeable when Joel is first entering the theater in the first segment, where it definitely looks like we can briefly see him before he sits down.
Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons looks like a much blander series than Stingray. It's not as aesthetically pleasing for one, and mostly the characters and premise are just tired and forgettable. Captain Blue? Lieutenant Green? Colonel White? And each character with a name that corresponds with the color of their wardrobe? Bitch, please. I could just as easily watch Power Rangers for that, and get much more cheap laughs while I'm at it.
This one is a bit weaker than Invaders from the Deep. They seem more into watching the movie and the riffing has less gusto than the previous experiment where Josh just kind of let loose. They seem more interested in showing the movie than actually making fun of it.
I'm kind of wishing they riffed these Supermarionation movies later in the series. There are quite a few openings that the crew would have taken advantage of had they had more experience. I got one huge laugh at the expense of the movie at a point when one character karate chopped another, and I just thought to myself in an Austin Powers voice "Judo chop!" (or "Hikeeba!" if you will) The transition between scenes with the screen flashing back would have made some riffing gold also. However they do mine those transitions a bit, particularly Crow, who kind of flinches every time.
I'm not entirely down on the episode. I had a good, mildly shameful, laugh at that squeaking noise leading to Crow saying "Excuse me."
As for Servo's first episode in MST history (sitting out both Green Slime and Invaders from the Deep), he doesn't make much of an impression. Josh seems to be struggling with who the little bot is, giving him a voice that sounds like a sleepy stoner. Kind of a disappointment after lighting the theater on fire as Crow in the previous episode.
I enjoyed the Thanksgiving host segments. This episode could be a Turkey Day regular.
Anyway, it's great to have two holes in our history filled in. Hopefully Star Force is found at some point in the future so we can finally lay claim to a complete series.

I'm hoping that this can lead to more of the KTMA episodes being released, even if they have to be released like this, as downloads for free to get around legal matters. No doubt many of us would prefer upgrades to those 4th and 5th generation copies.
But it kind of feels fitting that these two episodes have been released in this manner, as the show itself was copied and passed around to others to create awareness of the show and bring in more and more people, despite the fact it was techincally illegal.
And it's nice to know that Joel seems to have lightened up to the KTMA episodes. Maybe he and the other Brains hadn't actually seen the episodes for years and years and just always assumed that they were bad compared to the later stuff. But after revisiting it, he seems a little more pleased with them.

I found the restored Extended KTMA Scrapbook I made, if anyone needs it right now, I'll link you. gilchristgarrett at gmail. It has my edit of The Green Slime and the K03 clips and other fun.

Watched KO1 late last night. What a crazy trip. I'm still incredibly impressed with the video quality. After watching the old KTMA eps from trading, etc., it's like a night and day difference. The movie itself looked really sharp and colorful.
Speaking of which, I'd never seen any of these Gerry Anderson flicks before, and was surprised how adept they were at the style. I'd only really seen it done in Team America, and this looked very smooth compared to that (though I'm guessing Team America was allowed to be that way to enhance the comedy of the effect). That can't be easy to do. But as a MST3K flick, I thought it was about perfect. Lots of spaces to riff, even if Joel and Josh don't pull the trigger that often. I could see it being a blast on the new show or even Rifftrax.
I noticed the shadowrama effect that Torgo mentioned in this episode, too. You can catch a profile of Joel's face and some of the popcorn bucket he carries at various points. I was also pretty sure I had never seen that before.
And what can you say? Josh again proves he was probably the best riffer during the KTMA days with this performance as Crow (even though I think he's way better as Servo over the next two seasons).
Good, fun stuff. May try to watch K02 tonight.

Got my hands on it. I'm going to assume we're frowning upon trading these at the moment? I'll gladly fork over cash for them if they ever become available through legit channels.
I can see why they weren't thrilled to share them before... but we're talking history here. It takes Joel forever to enter the movie in the first one, and even then the riffs are few and far...
The film isn't too bad either. Enjoyable in its own right.

Technically, they've already been made available through "legit" channels. If you at least consider Joel and Shout and the Kickstarter to be legit channels. Which I do. I personally wouldn't trade or sell copies, but that's just me. I get that it was released with a download option included, so yeah, it's going to be passed around. I have no doubt they have more plans for the KTMA stuff, these episodes included. Everyone will get a chance to see them.

Just watched K01 with my girlfriend. Movie was legitimately watchable, which was nice, given the lack of riffing (at least until Crow showed up). We actually enjoyed this episode more than some of the later KTMAs, although most of that came down to the movie. I find it interesting that Beeper was mentioned during the segment where Gypsy contracts the space virus. Seems like he was only mentioned because Joel was still using the pilot script. He probably realized his mistake at some point later, resulting in Beeper not being mentioned in the ending segment. I'd also be interested to find out why Crow kept leaving and reentering the theater. Other mildly interesting thing: since K01 and K02 aired only once, this marks the first time that anyone (barring Jim Mallon or some person with an unreleased tape copy) has seen them in exactly 28 years and 1 day. Pretty cool

If I had known beforehand, I would have chucked money at them. I was unemployed for a while though. I have no problem tossing money their way once the option is there. I'm quite ethical when it comes to MST.
