When we were filming this, I instantly realized that the cinematographer listed in the credits lived upstairs from me in my first apartment. By chance, I saw him walking down the street a couple months ago and told him they'd be riffing this film and he flipped out. He said, "I didn't think anybody remembered that film." He said it was the first project he worked on in Hollywood and the whole crew thought that the director was going to be the next Spielberg...until they started filming. This was the film that had all the puppeteers quoting lines from it (until we saw Carnival Magic). The gifts that Russ and I gave the other puppeteers after we wrapped had a card that read MERRY BIGFOOT. Many laughs were had during the filming of this one. Mary Jo, Kevin and Bill were all on set in California. I play Kevin's virtual hands grooming Patton in that scene. Cool beans! Say, Grant...I hope you understand that our (or my, at least) griping, nitpicking and overall bitching about every little thing isn't a reflection of our actual gratitude and appreciation of the job you and everyone else did on the show. Because we do appreciate it. On the whole, the season (so far that I've seen) is pretty good. We're (I'm) just superfans. Its what we do. Please, though, feel free to take any constructive criticisms you see as valid* and pass them on up the chain of command so that next season can be even better! (*every bit of constructive criticism is, in fact, valid, but you're a busy guy so we'll cut you some slack)

Interesting choice by Joel to start the whole season with cold opens rather than just the premiere. Seems like an arbitrary tradition to do away with.

Now season 12's set is going to look like an episode of Hoarders and the camera will never stop panning and zooming!

If the fans weren't passionate about the show, we wouldn't have been able to film 14 new episodes! I hope, hope, hope there's another season so we can see what we can do about some of these constructive criticisms. That would be awesome!

Cold opens for every episode? At least can they just cut to the opening without the tube sucking up Jonah? Not a fan of it as a recurring gag. Alsoooooo.... How about not stopping the theme music so Jonah can say "Hello? Hello?" Worked for the first episode in the context presented, but I actually want to enjoy the theme uninterrupted, without the pause.
Minor quibbles, as I'm pleased with the riffing itself so far. This truly IS MST3K, and I'm grateful for that!
The season arcs of the Sci-Fi channel years put me off. Especially since my repeat viewings will be out of order based on my favorites. Keep the continuity loose in that respect, in my worthless opinion!

If you ever see him again, tell him the cinematography was one of the better aspects of this awful movie. And thank him (and you) for helping make another episode of our favorite show.

While watching the movie, I was quite surprised how gorgeous some of the shots of the (cry) wilderness were.

I told Shout that when the time comes I'll put them in touch with hi for any DVD Extras for that episode. He seemed really interested to talk about it.

LOVED this episode! I had never heard of this movie before, it's like FINAL SACRIFICE had a baby with BOGGY CREEK 2. Great riffing all around!

As I said elsewhere, I thought this episode was hilarious and for me even funnier than the first! The host segments were great too, that first segment with the bots dressed as raccoons knocking over the cereal boxes was the point where I said to myself, "Yup, they nailed it."

I wanted to also mention the bizarre thing at about 38:20 in, where Crow reacts to some huge thing coming in from the right. I've watched it a few times and it is actually not something entering the theater, it's a member of the film crew (no, not THAT Film Crew) entering the shot during the bear scene. Like a piece of camera equipment. Crow turns his head and says "The hell?" and then shifts back to watching the movie.

The host segments were great too, that first segment with the bots dressed as raccoons knocking over the cereal boxes was the point where I said to myself, "Yup, they nailed it." That was a fun bit to do. Little behind the scenes about it in the Spoiler space below. This bit required two of each bot, both dressed like raccoons, one set with the sledgehammer and baseball bat. As they destroy the pyramid of lightbulbs and disappear under the desk, they are swapped out and popped back up. Not THAT easy of a feat when you consider how heavy Crow is and how crowded the puppet trench was with puppeteers and crew members. I think we did about two or three takes. This was one host segment bit I was eager to see the final product of.

I enjoyed the first experiment, but I loved this one. The movie is goofy but pleasant, lots of animals and wilderness to enjoy, and Jonah and the 'bots seem to settle in. Felicia and Patton were wonderful and the cameo made me smile. This one is an instant favorite for me. Now I'm off to down a bunch of Cokes and listen to my transistor radio.
