I finished watching the second episode and I noticed that the end credits of [REVOKED TILL FRIDAY] were cut off. That hardly happened before on MST3K and I’m not sure what to think about this new decision. Then again, there’s not much to work with scrolling names so that choice might be reasonable. Or maybe the print they used abruptly stopped mid-credits.
Of course, I could be jumping to conclusions too quickly as there's still 12 more episodes to go.

I'm sensing a general directive of "Don't take any chance that anyone might ever get bored!" When it comes to pacing these episodes. The movies themselves are cut and edited to ribbons. It seems like they're afraid that ADD millennials will see a brief lull in action on the screen or in a host segment and immediately get turned off.
Which is a shame, because the show never gets a chance to breathe, and neither do the movies. Everything is so fast-paced it's over before it begins. Hopefully more towards the end of the season they begin to relax and let their episodes stand on their own without having everything so highly edited down to a nub.
As it is, it comes off as too self-conscious. And goes against the mantra of "the right people will get it."

I think it's more likely they just wanna keep the episodes right below an hour and thirty minutes. My favorite scene from Reptillicus was cut: an inexplicable touristy scene where the characters drive through Copenhagen and point out the various points of interest. This isn't new, as in the old series they frequently cut the fat from movies, especially middle sections of fight or battle scenes, which always seemed to go (practically every Gamera episode did this).

Back in the 90s when MST was first on the air, end credits were a bit more respected than they are now. It was mostly inconceivable at the time to edit them out and not give credit to who worked on what. In the years since credits have been fairly butchered on everything that airs on TV: sped up to an unreadable rate, scrunched up to fill q tiny box while ads show, shown on the bottom of he screen while the show ends and/or a new one begins, ECT.
While I haven't finished episode 1102 yet (and it's absolutely hilarious so far), this news doesn't surprise me. I'm going to miss the freestyle riffing creativity that an end credit sequence offers, but it's certainly not something to get worked up about. Rifftrax rarely riffs end credits either, and that's likely because it can be difficult to maintain momentum.

Maybe it was cut for time? My guess is that they're editing them into a two hour format in case they air on TV in the future. I'm sure they've added a few minutes of commercials in the last 18 years.

I doubt it. The episode was only 89 minutes long and the episodes this season range anywhere from 86 to 94 minutes in length. So there's no "editing for time" or set lengths this season.

I suspect they want to keep the episode moving and the full credits can drag. I personally love the credits, as in the Mike episodes it led to a lot of funny in-theater sketches. But I get why they would trim them here. Season 11 in general has a very "tight" feel to it, even host segments that would typically be drawn out in past seasons felt truncated.

The woodlands animals sketch honestly should've been a minute or two longer.

Yeah, that was the one where I got the point of the sketch and was conditioned from past seasons to expect another minute of things escalating but instead it just ended and they resumed the movie.

I like credit sequences too, but don't mind terribly if they start cutting them. But, I agree with DietK that its too bad that they felt they had to pace the whole new show this way. I'm actually pretty bummed they edited the movies. RiffTrax doesn't do that (that I know of) even now that they've gone heavily into full VOD riffs. On the other hand, I like that the show is essentially the same format with number and layout of segments. I dunno. I guess this is how MST3K evolved--its still the same root show, but its been sped up for the kiddies. It even fits in with the whole season Netflix drop. Now all the addicts can just watch a non-stop, no-breather 21 hour binge of riffs. I guess.

RiffTrax doesn't do that (that I know of) Rifftrax does cut off the end credits of their films for their live shows. But I think they plaster them somewhere in their own end credits.

I mostly meant edit the movies themselves. I don't think any of their movies, even the pre-mixed VODs have really ever been edited. ... although shhh, don't tell anyone, I think it's mostly out of laziness and not for any artistic reason.

It might be better to compare MST3K to MST3K - Rifftrax may not edit their movies, but in the original run of the series, movies were cut down for time and content all the time, it's nothing new, except in this case with the end credits.

I remember when Rifftrax did their Starship Troopers live how they are asked if they were going to cut out the nudity, and they said Sony didn't give their permission to edit any content from the movie.
But Rifftrax has always been a bound by no time restraints project, because they're very exclusively a "web" thing.

Rifftrax does edit their VODs, a lot of times for sex and nudity that can be cut out with affecting the plot and/or good riffing opportunities.
Samurai Cop has at least 2 lengthy soft core sex scenes they cut out of the VOD (I'm assuming the live version will be the same). There was another scene with female nudity that was left in since they couldn't cut it without leaving a plot hole (as much as it matters in a movie like Samurai Cop). Miami Connection had some shots of bikers flashing/mooning the camera during a montage that were cut. Other movies have the same kind of cuts.
Rifftrax has always been a bit inconsistent of what they edit, whether or not they censor when The riffers swear, etc.
