And it's all a bit of the tail wagging the dog. We're there to watch a movie with commentary, not to watch commentary with a movie (and if you disagree, consider this: would you watch the movie on its own? Maybe. Would you watch the commentary on its own? Probably not). And when you have distractions, either deliberate (as with Servo flying around or the songs) or unintentional (riffs being delivered too quickly and not synced properly with the movie or with Baron's terrible delivery) the whole thing falls apart and it becomes a chore to watch. After watching Season 11 again, this is pretty much how I feel. However, I am there to hear commentary with a movie. I seek out MST3K riffing, not the bad movie. The problem is that the riffing must be well-integrated with the movie-watching experience. Otherwise, what's the point? And when the riffing doesn't flow naturally with the movie, it fails to be riffing, and mostly becomes noise.

I'm impressed that they got Mark Hamill to appear. Who knew Joel had that kind of pull?
