Social media started buzzing from Kino Lorber yesterday when they posted that they acquired the rights to the TV series The Master, of which four episodes were edited into Master Ninja I and Master Ninja II, which were featured on our favorite puppet show.
I'm having trouble with gaining links to these announcements through Facebook and Twitter apps (I'm too old for this social media stuff) but if you look at Kino's accounts on both you'll find them.
Coming Soon on Blu-ray and DVD! Brand New HD Masters!
The Master (1984 Complete Series) Starring Lee Van Cleef, Timothy Van Patten & Shô Kosugi
Guest stars include: Claude Akins, Crystal Bernard, Edd Byrnes, William Campbell, J.D. Cannon, James Gammon, Clu Gulager, George Lazenby, George Maharis, Jock Mahoney, Monte Markham, David McCallum, Doug McClure, Bill McKinney, Demi Moore, Diana Muldaur, Dick O’Neill, Soon-Tek Oh, Robert Pine, Jennifer Runyon, William Smith and Stuart Whitman
No release date given yet, but one thing is for sure, out of all the MSTed films that have been getting blu-ray releases lately this is certainly the least expected!

I'm...honestly curious about seeing the whole series. Combination of the MST3K connection and liking Lee Van Cleef.
It's crazy they actually have HD masters of it.

If they recut the third movie using the HD masters, maybe Master Ninja 3 could end up riffed in a future season.

After acquiring the original Outer Limits I was hoping Kino would do Kolchak: The Night Stalker next... but this is... this is different.

The series isn't too bad, and it's cool to see it get an upgraded commercial release.

Wow, never thought THE MASTER would get an official release, let alone get the Blu-ray treatment!
