I don't remember where I read it, but somewhere it was mentioned that at least one B&W movie was being considered for the next season. Yeah, I remember an interview where Joel said B&W would be back for season 12.

I think Joel didn't want any B&W films in season 11 because he thought it might turn away any potential new fans. Maybe that was an overly cautious approach, but it's one I can at least somewhat understand, especially with younger generations who see B&W movies and immediately tune out. Now that the re-launch of the show has established itself, I could easily see one or two B&W movies in season 12. Personally, I'd love to see them riff something like The Giant Claw in the new season.

One of my biggest criticisms with season 11 since the Kickstarter and I still stand by it is that the restriction to use films that "look good" in HD is superficial and limiting. I understand why it was done, and I do think for the most part the HD presentations are very nice, but as a fan it doesn't sit well with me for several reasons. Personally I love the aesthetic of films from the 20's, 30's, 40's, and 50's, far more than I am of films of the 60's and 70's (though the epicness of the 80's tops all), and if I wasn't interested in watching The Deadly Mantis on that fateful day back in the late 90's I wouldn't be a fan today. To see the types of films that pretty much defined what drew me to the series pushed aside makes me cranky.
I'm very vocal about returning to older films, and yes even crummy prints if need be (because a bad transfer adds to the bad movie charm for me, I know I'm weird). I hope now that the "pretty" and "HD" and "for mass appeal" season is out of their system they'll branch out and find some goodies from all eras of filmmaking. If not then MST loses something for me.

With more and more 'niche' b-movies getting Blu-ray releases, the amount of films to choose from with HD transfers is impressive (seriously who would have thought they'd ever see stuff like CRY WILDERNESS and CARNIVAL MAGIC in HD??!!). The Green Slime would be pretty amazing, since it was never riffed in its full glory. But if Shout is looking into their own catalogue, Captain America would be epic since next year is Infinity War. MGM seemed to be a big backer of season eleven so it's a possibility. And I'd personally love more Hercules, plz. Yes, give us some the Luigi Cozzi HERCULES!

To see the types of films that pretty much defined what drew me to the series pushed aside makes me cranky. I like the older movies as well. I really love the 50s Sci Fi movies. ... But I also love the 60s spy movies. And there are good 60s monster movies too. And who doesn't love the 70s/80s Star Wars / Star Trek ripoffs. Though, I was never a big fan of the crap 80s/90s movies, especially the no budget ones like Hobgolbins or Futur War (although I admit over the year the earnestness of the two leads has won me over). And I like all Giant Monster movies. So, I liked much of Season 11 from a movie standpoint even missing those older ones. But I'm am also totes on board for more classics for Season 12.

For the intro, I'd like to see them drop the Jonah is acting it out live gimmick. It worked for season 11, but the joke will be stale if they do it for season 12. The cold opens were nothing special, and I'd prefer a more standard intro (no pause as he lands).
For host segments, I'd love to see Mike cameo just as Joel made a cameo when Mike was host. Heck, maybe for the season 12 finale have Mike and Joel cameo and get all three of them in the theater! I'd also love to see multiple Toms and Crows, with the different voice actors having their take on the bots meet.
A Forrester family reunion would also be fun.

Eeeeeeeeh...I might argue that the repeating intro gag was stale about four episodes into season 11. It's a cute idea that's charming the first time, but it's difficult to sustain the same joke as the show goes on. This isn't like, oh say, The Simpson's where you know for a fact each week you're going to get a couch and chalkboard gag. For that show each week there's something different. Sucking Jonah up into a tube is expected and takes about ten to twenty precious seconds of each episode where maybe a better joke could be told. Not to mention that should Jonah change his image or something as simple as cut his hair, they kinda shoot themselves in the foot in repeating this footage.
You know, they have that commercial sign that they don't use any more (due to no commercials), maybe they can re-establish it as an experiment signal signifying the intro and do something this season. I don't really know what, but I feel they've used the tube for all it's worth.
As for working in cameos from the others, that's up to the other cast members to accept. But if they do get Mike, Trace, Frank, and Josh to actually accept a cameo, Joel's comments about his initial reunion ideas got me thinking that an All Good Things style MST episode might be fun. Starting out with Jonah, Hampton, and Baron, then in the next segment you establish some sort of timeline alteration that gets Joel, Trace, and Josh in the theater, followed by another hiccup that gets Mike, Kevin, and Bill in there, and then repair it to bring in Jonah, Hampton, and Baron back in.
I think Rifftrax stole my idea for their Batman v Superman riff though.

I don't really know what, but I feel they've used the tube for all it's worth. My thoughts exactly. If they must keep the tube, they could say Jonah hacked the SOL to bring back Magic Voice who could announce “ten seconds to tube sign” or something before it happens.

If the show ever finds it's way to commercial television, those breaks already being built in would come in handy.

Joel being Joel, I could see them sticking to 90ish minutes per episode for future syndication to Comet, PBS and cable (IFC?) once Netflix's exclusivity deal runs out.
And seconded on the Big Lou Hercules duology, especially since Shout released them on Blu-Ray over the summer.

I haven't had a chance to listen to it myself, but on the latest Nerdist Podcast, Jonah says the movies have been secured and they have started writing.
