I watched How it All Ends (I think that was the name of it). It was really boring.

I'm four episodes into Disenchantment, and I gotta say that the mixed response is a tad overblown. It's clearly not on the same level as The Simpsons or Futurama, but I've had some hearty laughs at the series so far.
If I were to say something that I'm a little weary of it's that I don't think Bean is a very interesting protagonist. The independent girl in the classic "every princess gets a prince" fairy tale land is a cute idea but her character is very one note, and when she needs to display a personality they fall back on just her being drunk. Some episodes it feels like the same old drunk gags come out of her mouth phrased differently.
But I'm curious if they have some interesting arcs or directions up their sleeve that makes these tropes worthwhile. In the meantime I'm just enjoying the Matt Groening humor. Can't get enough.

^^^^ I love Luci. I want a little demon figurine or shirt with him on it. I'll have to look up if they have those things out already (probably). I love Elfo, too. I watched all the episodes and I, too, don't think Bean is very interesting, but, maybe that will change for next season. I won't give anything away or anything, but the episode where they visit her Stepmom's homeland is just horrible. It's like they had absolutely nowhere to go with that and they were just talking in the sound booth or something and no one came up with anything. I like some of the background humor that you have to be catching. When they go in the forest, there is a sign that says, "Beware of Racist Antelope". There's a restaurant called the Kraken Barrel.

River British detective series. Good story, but very slow developing. Six episodes that felt like twelve. The disco song played in the series grows on you.
Dr Foster British. A woman suspects her husband is cheating on her. It held our interests for the first 8 episodes, but the last 2 were letdowns.
Marcella Another British detective drama about a woman who comes back to work for the police to solve a murder while her personal life goes to hell. It has a lower rating than the two series above, but I liked this one the best of the three.

I can't stress enough just how good those last two episodes of Disenchantment were. I'm totally on board for season two, I just have that binging remorse where you realize you have to wait a full year to see what happens next.
Total delight, and it seems they're setting up some interesting stuff for Bean next season which will hopefully solve her character problems. Plus so much stuff unanswered, such as Elfo's lineage, those two eavesdroppers who set the entire season into motion, what happened to Luci, where did Elfo wash ashore... I just really loved it, you know? Such a breezy fun series.
I always thought Matt Groening should have tried to branch out and do more diverse genres with his style. I'm glad he was able to oversee at least one more in his career.

I am five episodes into Disenchantment. I like it so far, but I wouldn't say it's great yet. I look forward to the last two episodes of the season, which I have heard good things about. It reminds me of early Bojack Horseman or maybe even The Simpsons and Futurama. It has potential. I just hope they find where they want to go with it and achieve the quality those shows achieved in their primes.

Fifth season of Bojack Horseman starts Sept. 15th. I binge watched the whole season yesterday. The only bad thing about BoJack Horseman is that I have to wait a whole year for the next season.

^^^^ I hear ya. Also: For a cartoon, this show is pretty damn depressing at times, though has it's funny moments, too. It's like a dramedy, except in animated form. Pretty clever. Different. (I'm sure there are others that I just haven't watched). But, like I said: Depressing. Funny moment: When we're watching the show within a show (Bojack's detective series), when it shows the aftermath of the missiles falling and you see some newspaper headlines it says something like, "Traffic slightly better on (forget the name of the highway in L.A.)." Of course, it's due to the fact that millions of people are now dead.

I'm re-watching BoJack from the beginning. The episode where they go back to 2007 (and Princess Carolyn is singing some generic 2007 song in her car ), there is a moment when a young Tod and his friend (I forget her name, the one who wanted to date him in the present, Edit: Emily) are outside a restaurant talking and the name of the restaurant is David Hassellhoff's Floor Burgers, and it's a picture of DH lying down next to a couple of burgers (?!!!). I just cracked up at that bit of random silliness. You really have to pay attention to the things in the background, too.

BTW: That one where the entire episode was a eulogy at the funeral home was amazing.

Haunting of Hill House
Very high rating on IMDB. First few episodes were pretty good, but it transpired from a horror series to a drama series. The creepy ghost scenes were good, but there weren't enough of them. Not bad, but not as good as the rating suggests.

I tried to watch Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Couldn't get through the first episode. Not doing it for me. So, they're a bunch of Satan worshippers? That's a bit much for a series.
I watched Castlevania. The first season only had 4 episodes, and the second season is out now. It's okay. I like the idea of it, and the look of it, but not much actually happens.

Finally watched "Ozarks, season 2." We liked season one a lot, so I'm not sure what caused us to wait so long to watch this season. Anyway, my wife and I enjoyed this season just as much as the first. It reminded me a lot of the Foghorn Leghorn cartoon with the chickenhawk. The dog will help him catch the chicken if he gets him a bone. The cat will help him get a bone if he gets the cat a fish. The mouse will help him get a fish if he gets the mouse some cheese.
I think fans of Breaking Bad would like this show.
Last night we wanted to watch a horror/thriller on Netflix and we chose too quickly. We watched "1922" and it was horrible. We kept watching with the hope that something was going to happen. Normally, with a bit of time invested, we'd stick with it just to see how it ends. We didn't care at all and just turned it off. If the main character turned out to be an alien, who was his own brother, dead the entire time, and it was all a dream from the mind of a mouse, it wouldn't have helped.

I'm looking forward to The Christmas Chronicles, with Kurt Russell as Santa Claus. It airs on Nov. 22. (Which is also the date a certain other show comes on). Edit: Also, Nov. 6th is Stranger Things Day. Don't know what that means. I think they are going to show fan stuff, don't know what else. Edit Edit: I guess it was nothing on the channel itself, just a trailer or something on their Twitter page, or, some page I have no access to. Whatever.
