Couldn't be more pumped for this Thursday! I've wanted to see KILLER FISH for a few years now, should be a fun riff!

According to the Den of Geek Review, the episodes are indeed shorter and they've changed the format. 1 hour, 20 minute episodes with only 1 mid-episode host segment, and no commercial bumpers, if I'm reading it right.

Considering a lot of host segments are "I guess we need something here" filler, I can live with this.

This might be considered blasphemy, but I don't mind just 1 mid-host segment in the episodes. Having no commercial bumpers is a big plus imo. For me, they added nothing to the show last season. The Gauntlet concept is fun and I look forward to seeing how it plays out. I'm also glad to hear that they have slowed down on the jokes. Much of the riffing last season felt too cluttered as we all know.

Oh, one thing that does bug me though is that they aren't going to explain how Crow and Tom are back on the SOL and not still living with Mike. I thought I read an article last year where Joel said they were going to explain this? Oh well.

These positive reviews are certainly promising. My main criticism of last season was that they were too scared to let the riffs breathe, and both reviews suggest they have remedied that problem. Really looking forward to the new season!
I wonder who the "didn't see them coming" cameo is? I'll venture a guess that it's Lin-Manuel Miranda since he tends to pop up in random stuff a lot and seems to appreciate geeky stuff like this. Plus he could be used in one of the show's song segments.

I thought I read an article last year where Joel said they were going to explain this? Oh well. I believe Joel said such an event would be dependent on whether or not Mike agreed to do a cameo.

The commercial breaks made sense at the time, because they didn't know where the show was going to ultimately end up airing when they were making season 11. Now that they seem to be in bed with Netflix for the long haul, they can adapt to whatever the norm is for streaming shows. I presume other streaming shows don't have natural ad breaks in them? My money is on the Crow that went back in time to the 80's and didn't return, and a spare Tom that somehow didn't get blown up at the end of season 10. The "original" Crow and Tom are probably still living with Mike. Nobody ever wonders how they got Gypsy back. She was running a very successful company!

They knew the show would be on Netflix before filming began (the deal was announced in July 2016, filming began in Sept. 2016).

Awe no more commercial break tunes from The Skeleton Crew...
I'm most interested in if we will get a new take on the intro theme.

Only one mid-skit means the films won't be as edited as some of us were fearing. And as far as only having one segment, if it's between that and three using those lazy 3D printed things, I'll go with just one.
