So will anyone be seeing Joel and Jonah "live in concert"?

I saw them in Cincinnati two weeks ago and it was probably the hardest I've laughed at MST3K. The show was kinda structured like a ComedySportz performance, so they were really playing to the crowd. If the riffing in the new episodes is as strong as it was on this show, we're in for a great season.

I've got sticker shock after road-tripping out to Ashburn to check out Trace and Frank's riffing thing at the Alamo, then a Drive-In pilgrimage to Pennsylvania, so I did not catch this. Are they doing it regularly, or was it a one-time thing?

It’s a tour that ends mid Nov. They did one last summer, too.

Unfortunately, I won't get a chance to see them this time around.
Fingers crossed for a MST3K Live DVD, though I imagine that's unlikely.

Got a ticket to see it in Boulder, Colorado on Tuesday, will be taking a short flight out there for it. Was disappointed they canceled the live show for Utah last year, so I'm glad I still don't have to travel far to see it this time!

I saw this today (my birthday, by happy coincidence) and while the show was great--they all played off each other expertly and were fresh as daisies--the venue left something to be desired.
I'm in Seattle and saw the 3 pm show at the Moore Theater. It's a gorgeous space, but I was in the upper balcony. This wouldn't have been much of problem, except unlike the main floor (where I sat to see Eegah!), which has padded, regular size seats, the upper balconies have tiny, premolded things of hard plastic with metal riser-type armrests that can't be moved because they're one solid piece. I literally could not fit into this seat.
I spent the whole night balanced on the edge of my chair, trying to not clip the guy in front of me with my knees (sorry, guy, you were very nice) and the woman next to me and her date actually moved because we were so cramjammed in. And this was WITH an empty seat next to me! (I'd bought two tickets but Husband couldn't go at the last minute) (Sorry, Lady and Date. I tried to make myself as small as I could.)
Plus, The Moore's acoustics leave something to be desired at that height. While I'd had no problem on the main floor hearing everything, I missed about every fourth or fifth joke due to the clashing noises bouncing off the domed ceiling.
Again, the show itself was hilarious and I hope they release DVDs of the live stuff--I'll be first in line! But no more attending the actual stuff unless I can sit somewhere designed for a human butt and not a Disney mouse.

Got back from seeing the live riff of The Brain yesterday in Colorado. It was AMAZING! I laughed my butt off! The riffing was top-notch and there was hardly a dull moment. Also got to meet another MSTie there I know online. Was a great night all around, and now I’m even more pumped for season 12!

Sorry I didn't check out this thread beforehand. I would have loved to connect. It was a great time. I hope they find a way to release it someday because the riffing was terrific.

I caught the 7pm Chicago show last night. Compared to last year's show, this one felt smaller and looser but I think that actually improved it. Maybe it is because this was the second to last stop on the tour, but Jonah, Joel, Rebecca and the tour bots felt very at ease with each other and the script, there was a much looser improv feel. I suspect were there a script book for this show, it would be wildly different from what I saw. Lots of funny off the cuff moments, like Joel's impressions, awkward touching and back massages, Joel's weird inner monologue sounds that made Jonah break for a good minute. The lack of taped segments helped, as much as I liked seeing Felicia and Patton in last year's show, it was nice to have all the action happening on stage. I liked Deanna Rooney's character, especially the concept of her ship which was like the Barbasol can from Jurassic Park turned on its side and each tube was its own biodome. Excited to see this in Season 12.
There was plenty of merch, which surprised me given how late in the tour they are, but the cellular signal in the theater was s*** so it took 5 mins per person to pay. Thankfully I managed to buy a signed 2017 program and a 2018 30th anniversary shirt before the show started.
All in all a great event! No offense to Hampton and Barron, but I much prefer Grant and Tim's take on Tom and Crow. They just nail the voices and having them voice AND control the puppets leads to a lot more dynamic moments between the bots and the hosts.
