It's ok so far.
Servo flying around the theater is still pointless and distracting.
A distressing number of fart jokes so far this season.
Edit: The movie alternates between mildly confusing and outright boring. The riffing is okay, but I feel like it's not quite hitting its potential in this episode.
Edit 2: Well, this movie took a left turn.
Edit 3: Watching 4 episodes or so far I've come to realize what a shallow depth of riffs they actually have. Everything's either a fart joke or a Star Wars joke. Or the same thing they've already same a dozen times in a row. Or they overexplain what they're talking about. Like the Myst line, or the Diogenes bit. Or a callback to something that wasn't funny in the first place earlier in the episode like steak milk or "Pretty nice". Pretty lazy.
Edit 4: Didn't expect that cameo. An ok episode.

That cameo was totally unexpected! Mad props to everyone involved in the show for keeping that one a secret!

"Where in the prog rock am I anyway?"
This one was okay. What a weird movie. It pretty much has no plot and is made up of a bunch of random occurrences. The riffing is decent but not great. A few lines made me chuckle like the one above.
So in the end: good movie selection, decent but not great riffing, and a cool/unexpected cameo appearance = a pretty OK episode.

"This is where Boston album covers go to die"
probably my fav line from the episode

Just started it, I enjoyed the opening skit. And I finally got my Bette Davis impression & quote (for a different movie). The fact that I had her on my mind earlier made the line funnier.

“This whole movie is like a cold open to a Colombo episode.”
A great (true) riff. This movie was dull and gave them nothing to work with. Not a great choice. It picked up a bit, but I would have loved “The Brain” from the live show instead of this one.
On the positive side, host segments and invention exchanges continue to be very strong this season! Great song too!
Neat guest star - didn’t see that coming!

Though it kind of tailed off at the end, this was another decent experiment. The movie was fine, if only for tiny elf alien and Jenny, who inspired some hilarious quips. Yeah there are fart jokes, but there are other types of jokes, and they’re a hoot.
"That window is like catnip to this family" - Jonah
And yeah they lean on Star Wars, but again, there do reference other stuff, which can be quite funny (the Great Gazoo, Evil Cambot, the Brady Bunch… and that was all in one sequence)
The ‘Concepts’ song was fun and the guest was a joy -- seeing (shhhh, doin’t tell) made me stupidly happy. (to reference XTC)

This one was my most anticipated of the season, personally. I especially had high hopes for it since it was a Charles Brand production with such a goofy premise. Ultimately it was slow out the gate, but once the movie actually started putting its plot in motion the laughs start coming. The second half is way stronger than the first.
The spoilerific cameo is really the only cameo I ever wanted out of the revival series, and now that I have it I'm content. Thank you to this wonderful cameo person for making my dreams come true. Also...we learn who Kinga's mother is? It seems too good to be true honestly.

My only huge disappointment in this one was not finding out of Leonard Maltin gave it a better or worse score than Laserblast. As for the cameo... {Spoiler} The way Dr. Erhardt shows up totally messes with my personal fanon/headcanon of what happened to him, but damn it was great and unexpected to see him, and to find out he's aged into a much more mellow, almost Dude-like traveller.

Honestly I really, REALLY enjoyed this one! The movie was really goofy and the riffing actually got a lot of laughs out of me. That musical number was pretty charming, and WOW, that cameo at the end was a perfect cherry on top! I think I'm gonna put this one in my favorites so far next to Mac and Me.

LOVE the concepts song!!!!
I also liked the Boston album cover joke.
I agree about the fart jokes. In the old days you'd get one every other episode, maybe. Now there's a dozen a show. Enough already.
Also agreed about explaining jokes. Either write the joke to stand on its own in the first place, or skip it.
(nerd alert) One of them hummed Star Wars music at one point, and the closed captioning said "Luke's Theme". It was actually Obi-Wan's/The Force Theme. (pushes up glasses)

I've got something I've been thinking about with regards to the host segment featuring the concepts song... gonna throw this under spoilers, juuuust in case, even though I doubt its really a spoiler. {Spoiler} In the old days, there were a few mentions of Crow being made of molybdenum (had to look up how that was spelled XD), yet in this episode Crow states he's "equal parts titanium and spirit gum." Maybe I'm just being overly nitpicky over a throwaway joke (that I still laughed at), but since fans have thrown around theories that this set of bots aren't actually the originals and this may be revealed in a future season, I'm wondering if this might just be foreshadowing of that.

The movie was just too overly boring. The riffing started pretty strong in the beginning, but there are only so many ways you can say "Oh, that's a cheap effect" and still make it work. The nature of the film was especially hard to keep up with and it got very boring very fast. The episode suffered because they did not pick a good movie to feature.
