Hello!
I have the DAP "Complete 35 DVD Collection" and I was wondering if there is a resource somewhere that I could replace some of the not-so-great quality episodes?

Damn. Wish I could afford that. If I was able, I'd get the whole shebang in HD and make my own Blu-rays.

HD is not possible for any episode of MST3K produced prior to Season 11, excluding the movie.

It can be cleaned up and UPSCALED so it would at least look decent on modern TV's. Of course it wouldn't be true HD, but preservation should be the goal.

Shout has never shown any real desire to do anything other than just digitize video (if that), so taking the extra step to upscale it seems unlikely, unless they catch wind of the BBC raking in huge dump trucks full of money with their classic Doctor Who Blu-ray sets.

Shout Factory releases the episodes on DVD. Are the DVD's in chronological order though?

Archive Corner 2 on YouTube has DVD rips of the majority of the MST3K episodes on DVD. It's not official, but the option is there.

It can be cleaned up and UPSCALED so it would at least look decent on modern TV's. Of course it wouldn't be true HD, but preservation should be the goal. Upscaling is not preservation. The show was shot in SD, it has been preserved in SD. It is very presumptuous to insist Shout should be spending money on upscaling the source video when you aren't even willing to pay for the episodes. They have tested the process and run the numbers, and the projected sales won't justify it.
