How would you rank the 3 hosts of the show? Personally, I'd say:
1. Mike
2. Joel
3. Jonah

This is hard for me. I like Joel and Mike equally.
My feelings about Jonah is he isn't a *bad* host, I just feel he doesn't really have a personality that's distinctive enough from Joel. He's definitely not like Mike, but he's just kinda "Joel 2.0" to me.

Joel is #1 by a country mile and then that speck in the rear-view is Mike, smiling.
and Mike left Jonah a few dozen miles back at the gas stop.

1. Mike 2. Jonah 3. Joel
I love them all, but if I had to order them, this is how I'd do it.

Eddie is the best. And how dare you all forget him.

If it was a race, it would be Mike breaking the tape just ahead of Joel, Jonah would be lying on the track somewhere behind doing his best Mary Decker impression.

I love all three almost equally, but if I HAD to rank them:
1) Joel (gets bonus points for creating the show!) 2) Jonah 3) Mike

I'm only going to do this a little differently and judge them by their first 20 episodes, so everyone is on a somewhat equal footing.
I'm giving Joel a mulligan on KTMA and Season 1 and saying his first episode is 201. The show wasn't finalized or written well those first 2 seasons.
Joel gets 201-307. Mike 513-608. Jonah 1101-1206.
Going off those...
It's a very close race between Mike and Joel. I prefer early Mike, myself, over his work in the later seasons. Later he became basically a big human cipher, a personality-free, prerequisite human. So, Jonah, basically, who consequently comes in a distant third.
But between Joel and Mike, I find Joel more consistently interesting to watch and listen to in those first 20 episodes, so Joel by a nose.
They could replace Jonah with a cardboard cutout à la Hobgoblins and I wouldn't notice a difference.

That's a hell of a mulligan.

If you want to go back and watch KTMA and season one and tell me that it's the same, fully-formed show that everyone else hosted with a straight face, more power to you. I get your reasoning. I'm just saying, you set a criteria for yourself to objectively judge the three hosts, and then immediately threw it out the window when you realized it gave the others an unfair advantage. I can't help that I find that both amusing and adorable. Technically, even accepting that caveat to the criteria, now Mike still has an unfair advantage over Jonah because the show had six and a half seasons to find its voice before Mike stepped into the role of host, during most of which he was the head writer and a frequent guest actor, meaning he had plenty of time to get good at the job before he had to dawn the jumpsuit. Jonah had to step in after a 17 year void, with neither he nor the rest of his cast mates or most of the writing staff having ever worked on the show before this, meaning the show was practically started at square one again in terms of having to find its voice.

The idea that anybody can judge them as hosts objectively seems odd; this is an entirely subjective exercise.
I'm pretty sure most would agree that KTMA and Season 1 were not very good at all and that a clear break in the series happens at 201. Joel built this thing but it certainly wasn't honed into anything worth judging until about that time his lungs were aching for air.
It's only fair to Joel to wipe those first 34 out to put him on same footing as Mike and Jonah, two hosts who were each stepping in to an already established franchise.
