I've been watching MST3K (as well as Rifftrax on Pluto TV) a lot more often in recent months, since my dad passed away last October. Things have been kinda stressful and rough, needless to say, but watching MST3K and Rifftrax does put me in a much better mood, and do find myself laughing a lot more, than when trying to watch other shpws, or just laughing at things in general.
Has the same ever happened for anyone else here? MST3K provided a sort of escape from anxiety and depression?

Definitely. There was a period where I was so poor from hospital bills that I could barely afford food, so I threw myself into a chronological rewatch to take my mind off hunger. It mostly worked.
But a lot of my rough patches call for quickie laughs, so thirty minute TV shows usually hit the spot more.

MST has gotten me through countless hard times, it always provides a familiar comfort. It makes me laugh when nothing else can.

I was in middle school not too long ago which I still consider to be the worst three years of my life, due to a number of factors. I watched a lot of animation, film, and TV to get my mind off it, so while it wasn't just MST3K, it was a very great distraction from all the crap going on in my life and something I loved. Still love it to this day.

Yes! When I’m down in the dumps I can watch MST or Rifftrax and within a minute it’s like a comfort to me.

Well, one time that sticks in my memory was in late 1991. I'd just had ileostomy surgery, and had complications that left me in the hospital for a month, including during Thanksgiving. Getting back home and watching MST was a big help. One problem: during that time, I watched "The Unearthly" for the first time. The "Posture Pals" and "Appreciating Your Parents" shorts were really funny, and my incision was still healing, so the old adage was true. It only hurt when I laughed.
