Octaman (with an "a" ) was a worse movie than Manos. Believe it. Worse than Castle of Fu Manchu. Believe it. First there was: Rock climbing. Then there was: SANDSTORM! Now, there's: Rowing! (Or, better described as BOAT SITTING!) And: Cave crawling! Oh, the pain. The short was a McGruff against drugs thing. Overall, very good, but the movie was as dull as a butter knife. Or, maybe just the butter. Edit: Da fuq that cheetah come from?

Octaman was the most fun I've had at a live show since Samurai Cop.

Octaman used to play on local TV all the time when I was a kid. To the best of my memory I was never able to sit through it beginning to end.
When a monster movie is so boring it can't even hold a little kid's attention...

Saw the encore tonight, I was more excited to see OCTAMAN on a big screen than anything. The riffs were good, only a few laughs out loud jokes for me. Gotta love the endless rowing and cave scenes.
The short was hilarious, they never run out of great shorts to riff!

I loved Mike’s reaction to the ring of fire sucking all of the oxygen out of the air.

Box Office Mojo posted the Octaman made over its two screenings, $280,000. That’s about $100,000 less than Samaurai Cop and Space Mutiny each made. www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=rifftraxliveoctaman.htmIt’s worth mentioning that the encore was the night before Endgame opened, which I suspect sucked some of the air out of the room, like so much ring of Fire. It’s also worth noting that this doesn’t mean RiffTrax made $280,000. Fathom and the theaters take a (probably substantial) cut.

I'd really like to know who they licensed OCTAMAN from. Retromedia released it on Blu-ray/DVD fairly recently, but the rights (from what I've read) should be with MGM. Kino Lorber announced they were releasing OCTAMAN to Blu-ray/DVD but must've canceled it after seeing Retromedia's release. I haven't seen Retromedia's Blu of OCTAMAN, but the transfer RiffTrax used was sharp & pristine so I'm leaning more towards MGM? If anyone noticed anything in the credits I'd love to know.

Wow. Only and hour and a half? That was one of the shortest live shows, wasn't it?
Really enjoyable night. Short was hysterical, and the movie had some amazing highs (though some of the biggest laughs came from the movie itself), though I prefer Octaman overall.
If that blatant sequel baiting ever pays off, I fully hope Rifftrax riffs the sequel too.

I really enjoyed the movie, though my theater had a low humming noise – almost like feedback – emitting from the speakers. Space battles and louder scenes drowned it out, but any of the slow plodding scenes in the woods made it pretty apparent.
Still, glad I caught this one. Can't believe I actually was annoyed that there wasn't resolution and that I actually kind of want to see the potential sequel.

Star Raiders trilogy, you guys. Let's get the Kickstarter running. Judging by this movie each should be 10 bucks a piece.

I thought Star Raiders was one of the most boring ones they've ever done (of the ones I've seen). Not many laughs in the theater.

The guys in my row at the theatre were almost certain that this would boost interest in a sequel. I mean, a $500 budget is still $500. Although I worry that it may be a Birdemic 2 situation - the only cast member with a modicum of self-awareness was Van Dien, and he veered awful close to Reb Brown territory.
