I'm not dead! 2 months ago I uploaded the premiere of 1005-Blood Waters of Dr. Z. I was going to start uploading re-runs from 2000-2003, but I kept running into copyright issues. So I said the hell with it and uploaded THE BIG ONE. The one I was going to do in December: THE 321/521 SANTA CLAUS DOUBLEHEADER! Yes, 4+ hours of Holiday goodness, broadcast December 24, 1993! I had to use a later broadcast of 321 for the first host/theater segment of 321, but starting around the 25 minute mark you'll begin to see some fun Comedy Central Christmas ads. I've thrown in the last sketch of a Kids in the Hall episode at the beginning, and the first host/theater segment of 209-Hellcats, which for some reason ran after the Christmas episodes. Not sure what CC was thinking there... Well, enjoy!

Awesome! Love to see KITH in the recording. I discovered KITH from tuning into Comedy Central early for MST3K!

It's funny. I used to tape MST3K and obsessively edit out the ads. Now I would absolutely LOVE a complete set of MST3K episodes with all the commercials left in. I've thought about organizing a campaign to collect every original broadcast recording that still exists, but I don't have the time! Thanks for doing this! I did this too, and I wish I hadn't. I eventually stopped doing it because I'd pause and wait for the show to come back on and I'd forget, cutting off part of the show. Ended up appreciating the commercials after a few years. Live and learn, I guess.

Aye. I love the commercials on all my old Sci-Fi tapes, even if at the time they were, for the most part, just annoyances that occupied more of my tape budget.

209-Hellcats, which for some reason ran after the Christmas episodes. Not sure what CC was thinking there... they were running episodes in order at midnight Mon.-Fri. at this point so it's just coincidence or circumstance (?) that it aired that night

New upload! 211-First Spaceship on Venus from February 25, 1995, the "Play MiSTie For Me" version. Keep an eye out for Exit 57 at the end, featuring a VERY young Stephen Colbert.

I'm on fire! New upload, 902-The Phantom Planet. Some Saturday morning Sci-Fi re-run goodness. December 1, 2001. This was roughly when I first started taping my own episodes with my dad at his office every Saturday morning. So this era of the show (and more specifically the commercials) hold a weird special place in my heart.

Oh man...this is fantastic. I don't make it to the boards much these days, but I'm glad I found this thread. For a long time, I didn't think I was watching MST unless I saw the last forty seconds of a Kids in the Hall sketch before hand. Also, EXIT 57...holy cow.

It's comments like this is why I do this. For many younger MSTies, the show has been disconnected from its broadcast roots. THIS was how the show was originally seen and experienced. The commercial breaks are an integral part of the show.

Now we just hope that someone finds a season 1 episode with commercials.
