From the world of MST3K, CT, Film Crew and Rifftrax... list your favorites
I didn't include cameos on mine, just the regular riffers, actors or supporting players. But you be you.

My Faves! The Top 101. Joel Hodgson - The creator and still riff-king in my heart 2. Trace Beaulieu - Talented, funny writer, riffer and the best actor of the bunch IMHO 3. Mike Nelson - Sharp comedic mind on MST3K, and with Rifftrax, he created a whole new way to enjoy riffing. 4. Frank Conniff - I've not seen him live with Trace, but based on TVs Frank and his work with CT, he's one of my favorites. 5. Bill Corbett - Mostly for his cranky take on Crow and Brain Guy. Early Rifftrax was strong (though I feel that project's become hit or miss of late) 6. J. Elvis Weinstein - I always liked him on MST3K, and he soared as a riffer/writer on Cinematic Titanic 7. Mary Jo Pehl - I've come to better appreciate her Pearl on MST, she was a stand-out on CT and with Rifftrax she's teamed with the next person on the list... 8. Bridget Jones Nelson - She was great as Neuvena and Mr. B, and as a riffer she and MJ are doing some killer work over at Rifftrax 9. Kevin Murphy - For some reason Kevin's never been a huge personal fave on RT and that's bounced him down a few, but for his Servo and Prof. Bobo on MST he belongs on the top 10. 10. Beez McKeever - Is she too high on the list? I don't care, I love her. I once interviewed her and we swapped a few emails afterward, and what a sweet, friendly person. After the 10...11. Janet Varney 12. Cole Stratton - Janet and Cole have offered up some hilarious Rifftrax releases.13. Hampton Yount - The best of the new MST group. Good voice work, plus he's a Buster Keaton fan.14. Patton Oswalt 15. Matthew J. Elliott - Rifftrax, he's a funny guy and provides a British perspective for a change of riff-pace.16. Felicia Day 17. Jim Mallon - Takes a lot of heat, but hey, he gave voice to Gypsy for years18. Paul Chaplin - does a nice Satan.19. Jonah Ray - Was not real high on him as host in season 11, but he improved in season 12, and he's a solid riffer20. Patrick Brantseg 21. Ian Potter - Elliott's rifftrax partner. He kind of gets overshadowed by Matthew, but I like him22. Baron Vaughn - Poor Baron - ok, I don't hate him, I think he improved in season 12, but he is my least favorite of the primary actors/riffers.
After this, I'll add the supporting players...23. Rebecca Hanson (Gypsy and Synthia) 24. Deanna Rooney (Dr. Donna St. Phibes) - I enjoyed her brief appearances in season 1225. Grant Bacioccio (M. Waverly) - Despite coming in at the end of the list, I dug both he and Russ's work26. Russ Walko (Growler)

1. Josh Weinstein 2. Everybody else
Nah, just kidding. I don't even know if I could rank the crew. All of them are very talented.

Now now, none of that. Yeah they are all special, but this is all in good fun. Have at it, no copping out. (I'll even accept a top 10 and a tie for twelfth)

I ain't trying to cop out, but if you insist...
1. Trace - He was THE voice for Crow and is probably my favorite mad. 2. Josh - Probably the most underrated cast member of the original series. 3. Kevin - I personally like Josh's voice for Servo a bit more, but Kevin was still damn good. 4. Frank - A good sidekick to Clayton, even if he wasn't as mad as him. 5. Jonah - I know I'll get murdered for this, but Jonah's actually my favorite of the three hosts. 6. Joel/Mike - It really doesn't matter to me. Both are great hosts. 7. Everyone else - Like I said, everyone who worked on the show are extremely talented. However, there are some crew members that I'm less familiar with then others. It's also hard to specifically rank things when most of them are pretty equal. Anyway, I hope your happy with my list because I'm not.

Fine. I'll do it. I'm winging it, though, so this is pure instinct. And to be clear - they're all awesome.
And this may be cheating, but I'm not ranking the cast of the latest seasons. I'll let them marinate a bit before I start ranking them with the legends.
1. Joel - Creator, original host, older brother figure. His concept and performance are what sold me on the show when I first saw it. Nobody was more recognizable, no one's delivery more unique. Easy choice.
2. Trace - The original Crow and most significant Crow. His work in the very earliest of KTMA shows helped set the template for everything they did afterward. Excellent impressionist. And Dr. Forrester was never equaled in the world of MST3K antagonists. If anyone could challenge Joel, it's probably Trace.
3. Kevin - Not the first Servo, but the best. His eclectic "song and dance" version of the character was definitive for Tom, and like Trace he was involved from the earliest KTMA days, meaning he helped guide the ship in the earliest part of its history.
4. Josh - Of the first four, Josh was probably the weakest. He was only on the show a couple of years, and his Servo never got completely fleshed out. But one thing I noticed about Josh was just how funny he is as a stand-up comedian and joke writer. He had to be a force in the writing room. And again, as a KTMA original, he helped set the standard.
5. Frank - I liked that Dr. Erhardt was an actual mad scientists. Frank was more of an assistant, but what a goofy, off-the-wall dude he was. There's no way that character works with anyone in the role except Frank Conniff. And they no doubt wrote for Frank and Trace feeding off each other. He delivered so many classic lines while barely setting foot in the theater. Not bad.
6. Mike - He had one hell of a tough job stepping in for Joel when Joel left the show. But he was another person who had to have been instrumental in the writing room. They likely didn't call him the head writer for nothing. Plus, he's clearly a naturally funny guy.
7. Bill - It wasn't easy stepping in for Trace, either, but Bill's transition was remarkably smooth. I was surprised by just how easily his Crow grew on me.
8. Mary Jo - I always though her best stuff was when she was doing something like talking to Mike about fishing or acting like they're next door neighbors. Unfortunately they didn't really embrace that weirdnesss until late in her run. Still, better late than never.

see that wasn't too hard. I'm proud of y'all.
And I liked Mod City's explanations. It's all about sharing the love, and what made them great (among a crowd of greats) and special to you.
Hope to see more celebrations in list form for these talented folk.

All I'll say is that Josh was seriously underrated for years. But, with the greater availability of the KTMA and Season 1 shows, plus his work on CT, I'm glad he's getting better recognition.
