They have a youtube channel. I know they have shorts on there, don't know if they have any whole eps. I think they actually sell old eps now though.

ok some random thoughts as its 4:36 in the AM and I can't sleep, I watched the Demon Squad episode and woooow the fact that NUMST3K is made for millennials is no joke. Hearing Joel spout off lyrics to I think it was a Selena Gomez song? (still a bit groggy) and in the most deadpan "I'm just here cause they asked me to be" way. The movie in itself has that wow this is really bad, but its so goofy its kind of lovable quality to it (I'm kind of a masochist when it comes to bad movies I blame and love MST3K for the conditioning) and them bringing back Josh for Servo and I dont have anything against Josh personally but I hated.. and I mean hated his Dr Erdhart character from season one.
I agree about the riffing being very meh, and the over exaggerated voices kind of grate after awhile. Is it Baron that does Servo along with Jonah?(I get names mixed up) his Servo voice is very snobbish and snarky and sure Kevin's Servo had his moment but he wasn't always like that, it just I dunno rubbed me the wrong way.
I know for some it maybe dumb to talk about the lore for this show, but in that episode Joel keeps talking about being in the future.. and its like huh? and Mary Jo Pehl coming around asking if Dr. F ever mentioned her.... well I mean maybe if Mike were arou....wait nevermind. it does feel like everyone kind of checked out for season 13 in some way, and you know I am still rather curious about the Nate situation I really liked the guy, he seemed like good people and for him to suddenly vanish and say "well I wanted to take care of my kid" which is all fine and dandy but it just felt like a cover up answer to me.
You guys mention Rifftrax and I loved Rifftrax about maybe up to 5 years ago. Hearing modern reference riffs coming out of MKB's mouths were jarring to be honest but I over looked it. And I mentioned it in the other thread but I was really a fan of them doing extensive edits either, when some of the movies (not all) are only 70 mins more or less it just feels like I only get 3/4's of a pie. Where they have maintained a solid growth are the shorts, I love the shorts, especially the bicycle safety one where the kids are all wearing creepy monkey masks.
I would check out The Mads but I'll be honest Frank being Frank kind of ruined the idea of trying to watch it, I feel like he wants to be some political pundit on a news channel at times. I dont really think about it though when I see him on original episodes of MST3K though which I guess I seperate it from there. Kind of how feel about Patton as well, I used to have his twitter on my feed and that was a mistake. Him being on NUMST3K was another NO for me and kind of detracted my enjoyment of the show. I know I will probably get flack for that but eh I don't care.
anyways its now 5:05 am and I think Im gonna go make some coffee...

The version of Joel that appears in Season 13 was brought back from the year 3000. How and why he is again on a copy of the SOL at that point in time is anyone's guess. Or how he survived so long. It's mostly just a means of addressing Joel's age, I think? Pearl: I guess the implication is that she assumed Clayton would have regularly spoken of his family while he had Joel captive - ego, family pride, etc. Mostly poking fun at the two new Forresters that were introduced after Joel escaped, I guess? It's stranger, still, that Joel actually had a chance to interact with Pearl when he appeared in Season 10, but did not. They do mention Mike with some frequency which feels both like the right thing to do in-universe, but deceptive on the meta level, since he's (probably) never coming back.

You have no idea how much I hate Kitten With a Whip... You still made a big Ann Margaret fanboy VERY happy getting that recording BOTH digitized AND uploaded on your channel.... So there's definitely a bright side to look on at least. Personally I'm just grateful that recording didn't suffer from such horrible picture noise as some other recordings I remember often coming back to as a kid unfortunately seemed to have gotten bad results from (even if at least still watchable).

Anyway I did watch a couple of Kolos's recent Turkey Day uploads I don't otherwise personally have on tape myself. I was a bit bummed "Girls Town" and (guh) "The Starfighters" had local ads but in the end, nothing that can be done about tapes that were recorded 30 years ago. I'm hopeful the complete TD 95 upload on Internet Archive doesn't have more of those stupid local ads but we'll see.
Side note: Yeah, I gotta be honest, "The Starfighters" was an episode I used to LOVE watching as a kid (mostly for the host segments and some awesome commercials my recording had, which you'll see on Kolos's channel real soon, but I did find the flying footage to be VERY fascinating at the time).... But as I've gotten older, this is an episode I find myself enjoying the host segments more than the theater segments, even with some good riffing ("Poopie suit!"). The movie is just too much of a drag for me, and it's become a bit low on my list with other season 6 toughies for me like "The Dead Talk Back," "Red Zone Cuba" and "The Amazing Transparent Man."

The first Gamera episode is a drag. I get the sense the writing team didn't know quite what to do with it. The same with 305-Stranded In Space. It wasn't until Paul became a full-time writer (306 or 307) that the writing team got fleshed out enough that even the "boring" and more difficult movies (The Unearthly, Fu Manchu) while maybe not being worth a re-visit, at least weren't a drag to watch for the first time. I've personally found myself liking "Barugon" the least of all the Gamera episodes. Not that it's bad but not the best riffing in my opinion. Which a shame cause this is the only more "adult-oriented" Gamera flick with no annoyingly badly-dubbed children in it. "Stranded in Space" is a pretty enjoyable one for me. Though I wish some Captain Picard jokes had been made on Carl Webster with how similar Dean Jagger looks to Patrick Stewart in that movie. I also really enjoy that movie on its own. A shame the TV series never got picked up.

The Starfighters is sort of a testament to how strong the writing was on the show, they have a movie with NOTHING and get through it. The best part is when they have fun with the jets refuelling bit and then the same damn footage comes back 20 minutes later. Not one I reach for that often but I admire their effort.

I've...... Unfortunately watched the movie on its own (TWICE, once was when my VHS copy I'm just planning on getting rid of soon first came in to my last apartment complex in May 2021, another was around the beginning of this year just curious to see if I could tolerate it on some cannabis..... Nope. Just made me hate it even more).
Kolos captured it for me in 2021 (which I definitely appreciated his help there) and I've since uploaded it on YouTube for the public viewing..... And wow, it REALLY blew up, even bringing up a Reddit discussion! I was amazed at how many people who've had experience flying those planes or just simply liking them really enjoyed that movie... This is definitely a movie I can see why it was only used for drive in theaters.

Kind of how feel about Patton as well, I used to have his twitter on my feed and that was a mistake. Yes. Big mistake. Pretty much for all of twitter. Don't meet your hero's kids, just watch them do their thing. But back to Frank, unfortunately his personal thoughts and his thing are now indistinguishable. I liked the earlier Mads a lot, but I almost can't watch them now. If you're watching an almost 70 year old B&W scifi movie, why are you talking about Chris Christie or MAGA?? I mean, sure do some politics, but like bring up watching out for the Reds or some cold war stuff or something right?

Patton's a decent actor but his Twitter feed...... Yeah, I really don't find myself paying much attention to his tweets.... I probably already have unfollowed him by this point to be honest.
Frank's political stuff I also tend to ignore on Twitter. I just like seeing his cat pictures.

I love The Starfighters and it's an episode I watch all the time! The Liberace dad *still* cracks me up! As noted, it's a masterclass in making comedy out of *nothing*. It's one of my favorite episodes. I remain ever-amused that I discovered it screened for a month as a support feature at a downtown theater in my hometown during the summer of 1964. (I've always thought Shout could perhaps create a line of discs of orphaned/PD MSTied movies paired with the episodes. Give the unriffed movie some TLC, toss in a new featurette featuring show alums from Ballyhoo and vintage media like a trailer, and voila!)
