Can't remember which one this was in, but Servo says "Oooh, Professor Firefly!". That's gotta be Margaret Dumont, from The Marx Brothers films, doesn't it? If it's not, what is it?

What's the deal with the "3 lesbians on a dangerous mission" line in "Future War"?

One that cracks me up everytime, but stumps me all the same: In a handful of episodes ("Beginning Of The End" and "I Accuse My Parents" are the first that come to mind), whenever a man with a pencil-thin mustache picks up a phone, Servo says "Yeeeeeeeeees?!" in this very odd piercing voice.
And, where exactly does "Hey, you're lucky my chick's not here!" come from?? (Joel says this constantly!)

What's the deal with the "3 lesbians on a dangerous mission" line in "Future War"? I think it's just a pointless jab. Lesbians are usually stereotyped as being butch.

It has to be Frank Nelson, a character actor from old time radio and early television, most notably Jack Benny. He was alway a floorwalker, or a waiter, or something similar. He was also on 'I Love Lucy' as Betty Ramsey's husband in the later Connecticut episodes. The 'Simpsons' episode "Mayored To The Mob" also contains a parody of him. (A note from your friendly neighborhood Admin: You get better results and it's easier to read if you place your response "after" the quote tags)

I know I should know this, but where does the repeated riff (usually from Servo)..."Slowly I turned, inch by inch..." come from?

Yeeeees. I don't know who Frank Nelson is, but on the Jack Benny show, Mel Blanc played an assortment of very gay guys. He'd always say that and often times get Jack cracking up and make it hard to finish the skit. Thank you local PBS station for acquainting me with that!
Slowly I turned... I think it's a Robert Frost poem. In one episode Tom (as always) quotes it starting, "Niagara Falls. Slowly I turned, step by step, inch by inch."

I know I should know this, but where does the repeated riff (usually from Servo)..."Slowly I turned, inch by inch..." come from? Its an old Vaudeville routine. See the I LOVE LUCY episode where they do it.. BTW: It always pisses me off when J&the bots make fun of Lucy as if it wasn;t a funny show. I LOve Lucy rules.

I Love Lucy Rules the Bowels of Hell maybe. It was NOT a funny show. IMO YOU ARE NUTS (IMHO) The show is in my top 5 of all time. It is still funny to this day and has the best comedic chemistry just behind MASH.

It's "Gents Without Cents" made in 1944. If you yahoo or google it you should get a good description.
