Oh yeah, Kids n the Hall for sure and I'd love to get "Red Dwarf". But I'd need to get rich real soon.
Tho I LOVE "CSI", I don't see buying those. I have a hard time even watching the reruns. With a mystery, once I know "Who done it", that's pretty much it.
"Family Guy"? It's one that mystifies me. Its not funny at all, I mean not at all. It has got a strong fanbase and the guys at work razz me for not liking it, but for me, it's stupid as hell.
(down boys, down. It's just my opinion. You can still enjoy it without me)

Well, he hasn't dissed South Park yet, so we're still cool.

Hey, I have high standards. Stooges are trash, I don't feel any shame in despising them.
Family Guy is manipulative, it's trying soo hard to be cool and for me it fails. The Simpsons, Python, MST, SCTV... they don't have to work at being hip, cool or brilliant they just are. It comes naturally.
Sorry Van, but I like great comedy.

I disagree, about Family Guy trying to be cool, it was always had those esoteric references for the audience, not on the same level of MST3K but no one got the Taxi joke with Jackie Chan at my school.

Well, he hasn't dissed South Park yet, so we're still cool. Parks a crude little turd and tries to force its world view down my throat... but when it's in a groove, the damn thing makes me laugh my ass off. Plus it's great water cooler fodder. It's seems every week we get together at work and talk about that weeks episode. And the absudity of Twitch seeing elves steal his underwear, or a stoned Towel clicks with me. I like weird.

You don't understand, it's not about esoteric references, it's about lettig it flow naturally. MST or the Simpsons throw out an obscure riff and it flows. It's got a natural vibe brought out by true comedic talent. But Family Guys lacks that, it throws these out and it feels forced to me. Like "wink, wink, nudge, nudge. Aren't we smart". No, your working to hard and your nothing but the B-Team. MST doesn't have that smarmy, self conciousness to it.

I was about to write you a crude, hateful, hurtful rebuttal after your first few words, but you kinda redeemed yourself. kinda.
The show definitely gets pretty political at times, and it's normally less than subtle in its views, but I never find them overbearing or hurtful. Even when they express a clear opinion, it seems that the respect for the opposition is there. In the end it's normally pretty balanced, unless you want to come up with an example to the contrary.
And it's Tweek you heathen! Tweek!
Twitch? Tch!
And oddly enough, I hated Towelie.

They made an intentionally annoying, hateable character to parody all of the catchphrases and merchandise they've made.

Sorry, Tweek. My day's been a nightmare. Car blew up in the middle of nowhere so I spent 2 hours walking to a phone. I'm suburnt, dehdrated and I think I fried some brain cells because I can't seem to type worht a damn tonight.
But I agree, Park doesn't push me too hard. They have something they are trying to say, but they're not too overbearing. At least not enough to annoy me.
