The Season 4,5,6 triumvirate; Russo-finnish trio.
1. The Sword and the Dragon- Perfect fantasy with perfect riffing and a damn great movie.
2. The Day the Earth Froze- More Season 4 greatness.
3. The Magic Voyage of Sinbad- I was expecting more from this much vaunted season 5 episode but it wasn't as good as the top two, part to the movie and part to the riffing. 2/3 the movie they're in the city and only leave on their voyage with fewer effects (this is the oldest movie) and the riffing was ok but not that good.

Well i just wanted the comedy central season 4,5,6 canon under Ptushko, althought Rou is considered the other fantasy director.

The Sword and the Dragon (aka Ilya Mourometz) takes the top spot easily. The other two plus Jack Frost are approximately tied in second place for me.

1. Jack Frost-It's in my top 10 episodes of all time and is what I consider to be a perfect MST3K episode in every way.
The rest of them I've only seen once so I can't really give them a proper ranking at the moment. I need to rewatch them all and come back to this thread when I do. I know for sure I don't like any of them nearly as much as Jack Frost though.

Of the one's you are rating. The Day the Earth Froze is my hands down favorite episode. No matter what my mood this episode always can get me to laugh. I watch it once every two months at least. This one is definitely one of my top five episodes of all time. The Finns are masters of the medium! I want to live there.

First let me say, I'm a huge fan of the Russo-finnish genre.
Of the 3 you listed I'd rank Day the Earth Froze first. I feel the riffing is hilarious, and still funny after repeated viewings. The witch alone is a goldmine of riff material.
Second, I'd give to Sinbad. I think the guys had fun with this one and that really comes through. The dialogue of the movie and Sinbad's facial expressions as well as the Luberia jokes really crack me up. I especially like the underwater scene near the end, the riffing is a blast.
A close third goes to Sword and Dragon. I only recently got this one so a few more viewings might push it up the ranks, but lots of laughs to be had.
If Jack Frost were included it would be tied for first. Close to a perfect episode, riffing-wise, plus the lovely Nastenka is so enchanting.

They're all pretty good for me. I don't really care which one I see, though, I have seen all of them many MANY MAAAAAANY times.

1. The magic voyage of Sinbad 2. The day the Earth Froze 3. Sword and the Dragon 4. Jack Frost
IMHO I think Jack Frost is a pretty lame episode. It's one of the few episodes that mainly relies on the stupidity/hilarity of the movie.
In other words a lazy epispde.

Never seen Jack Frost as more than an average episode, and I've watched it several times trying to close the gap with the mob. Yeah the movie is bonkers but so are Sinbad and Day the Earth Froze (and The Sword and the Dragon isn't weird at all in comparison to this group). I just wasn't laughing during Jack Frost - not much at all let alone at the pace as the other three in question. 1 - The Day the Earth Froze (15th) 2 - The Magic Voyage of Sinbad (16th) 3 - Sword and the Dragon (64th) 4 - Jack Frost (78th)
