Major Schwarzenegger fan here. So major in fact that I can spell his last name by memory, without checking IMDB or any of my videos and DVDs (believe it or not, I actually impressed a woman with this fact. That's pretty much all I have going for me in real life....).
Oh, I can tolorate kung fu Jesus flicks like the Matrix trilogy or several Jackie Chan movies, but none of these can replace the feelings I have about these big gun, big muscle, hard fist flicks.
Recently Arnold was elected Governer of California, which makes me sad. No more Arnie kicking ass. Oh well. I guess he was getting old. I still got the old movies to entertain me.
What are your favorite Arnold action flicks? My top ten would be:
10. Collateral Damage
I didn't really like it the first time I watched it, but I rewatched again recently and found it very entertaining. I just think it suffered from a bad release date (so close to 9-11 and all, even if it was pushed back).
9. Terminator 2: Judgement Day
I was fairly dissapointed in this movie after hearing all the good things about it. It's still not bad. The T-1000 was great and Arnie is in top form throughout. I guess Edward Furlong just got on the annoying side too often.
8. The Terminator
Something about this movie clicked with me in a way that 2 didn't. I liked Arnie as the villian (the only other time he did that was in Batman & Robin). I loved the suspense thriller tone of it. Plus, Michael Beihn rules.
7. The 6th Day
I enjoyed this movie, but I have to admit, I don't think Arnold was the right choice for the lead. Maybe Harrison Ford or Mel Gibson would have fit more. Still, highly watchable with an interesting plot.
6. Eraser
Sweet action scenes, badass oneliners, big high tech guns. This is what Schwarzenegger's all about, people.
5. Commando
Absolutly rediculous, but surprisingly appealing. God I love the 80's.
4. Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines
That's right. I went there. I'm not afraid to admit liked this movie more than the first two. Maybe it was the fact that they got someone different to play John Connor. I loved the ending too.
3. Predator
The only villian Arnold ever faced that made him look like Freddie Prinze Jr. Clever premise, entertaining flick.
2. True Lies
I freaking love it! Great action and great humor! James Cameron's best movie (above the Abyss and Aliens).
And my personal favorite Arnold movie of all time.....
1. The Running Man
Cheesy? Yes. Entertaing? AS HELL! It was like American Gladiators to the extreme! Richard Dawson shines as Killian, and there's plenty of ass-kicking to keep Arnold Fans happy.
