It's almost the old Hamm's beer beat they've got going on, slowed down a bit. You know the bit: "From the land of sky blue waters (waters) ..." If not, there's an old commercial on YouTube that has a cartoon bear crossing a lake in an Indian Native American canoe.

Exeter's stoic arms-crossed pose is very Indian Native-American-chief-looking. Hence the Indian Native-American drum beat riff. At least that's my take on it. Sounds right to me. For some reason I was thinking the riff was supposed to be something about how Exeter kinda-sorta-didn't look like Henry Spencer from Eraserhead or Dr. Strangelove from the movie of the same name. I should have figured that the watered down riffs in the movie would be exactly that.

I have one I've been meaning to ask about. What is "youth dew"- if that's even the right "dew"?

"Youth-Dew" is a perfume/bath oil product. It's been around since the 50's.

Okay, during Mitchell, when he breaks into John Saxon's house, Servo sings a lyric along with the music. This happens right before the riff about the crab dip. I cannot make out what the lyric is, let alone the song.

You know that bit in Jungle Goddess where Wanama says, "Wanama dumb" and they break into song. You probably all know this reference, but I spent literally months digging into my memory for what the heck song that was. (Mahna Mahna). I did a search here and didn't see it mentioned for the past two years, so I thought I'd post my "discovery" for the record, in case someone asks. Here's a youtube link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=YevYBsShxNsDoesn't it drive you nuts when you can't remember the name or context of a song you hear?

Hi, newbie here, just had fun reading all these references. I think I can solve one of the "mystery riffs" if it hasn't already been solved in this long thread.
Fairly sure that they're referencing Suzanne Somers here: Her book Keeping Secrets's introduction starts with "I'm the adult child of an alcoholic," and we all remember those wonderful Thigh-Master commercials.

Wow that is random. Who even knew Suzsanne Somers had a book?!

In a few episodes (i.e. Robot Monster) we hear about the "Zacklies". I don't know if we've ever heard a good definition here, but I just heard a possible explanation on the Stern Show:
When you're breath smells "exactly" like your bung-hole.
The "Zacklies"...

It's not all it's cracked up to be. No butts about it. I'm a little behind in my posts. And I'm still mooning over an old girl friend.
