As I was re-filing my collection today, I noticed that many of the episodes have things in common. Often they are pointless, arbitrary things.
So I thought it might be fun to start a weekly poll comparing episodes that have some random, uninteresting thing in common.
So here is the maiden voyage of the Pointless Friday Poll:
Severed heads that aren't dying.
The Brain That Wouldn't Die or The Thing That Couldn't Die?
Next week: All about diamonds.

I have to go with The The Thing That Couldn't Die(even though it did, and pretty easily too)since The Brain That Wouldn't Die changed titles from the beginning to the end credits.

The Thing That Couldn't Die because Jessica was so damn hot.
"I wasn't going to shoot you. I was going to clean it at you!"

I voted for The Brain. I don't hear much said about this episode, but I think Its a great one.

I like "The Brain." While the host-segments aren't among my favorites (and I'm a HUGE host segments fan), I really like a lot of the riffs in it.

I said The Brain... I just have to think that if it were The Thing..., feminists would have a huge issue with people calling a female's severed head a "thing". So brain is closer to the word head.

Yeah, with a title like "the thing that wouldn't die" I tend to think of "inanimate objects." And, well, I have plenty of "things" in my house that "don't die." I have to tell you, the verbal premise alone isn't really that scary.

Oooo tough call. I think that The Thing that Couldn’t Die is my favorite between the two but they’re both awesome episodes. Ask me tomorrow and I’d probably have a different answer.

Furthermore, "dead things" are scary in movies (even though in real life they'd probably be less so). So this "thing" which isn't scary in the first place, is, according to the movie, not going to be dying, which would make it scarier. So the title could be:
"A non-scary thingy will continue to not scare you!"
Hmmm....

"the thing".....easily...although i enjoy the search for bodies in "brain"....i really think the riffing in "thing" is much better.....when they're mocking the HORRIBLE accent of Aunt Flavia...Big Dumb Mike...the creepy voyeur...c'mon...it's packed FULL of FUN!! don't get me wrong...Brain is gold...but Thing....IS PLATINUM!!!

Brain. Aunt Flavia and the Allman Brothers got old for me.

"They took my traysure and I feel displaysure." The Thing that couldn't Die for me. since The Brain That Wouldn't Die changed titles from the beginning to the end credits. From what to what?

Well, I always thought that the Head That Wouldn't Die made more sense as there are plenty of movies with brains that wouldn't die. Kind of odd. More movies about undying brains without bodies then undying severed heads without bodies. I guess it's cheaper and you don't even have to worry about sound synch.

I enjoy "Brain," but "Thing" is a classic IMO. A Season 8 favorite.
