Kirk and Picard said that space was the final frontier. I disagree. There are a lot of other frontiers to explore. Like the uncharted depths of the Pacific. Or the microbe. Or the afterlife. Or that one abandoned warehouse on 5th Street downtown. Or the past (if I can get this damn flux capacitor to work).
So in reality, space is just one of many frontiers.
It's also big. REALLY big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the street to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space. And so on.
There's more nothing in space than something, by a wide margin. Just like in these films.
But which has the most something? Or least nothing? And is it even logically possible to have less nothing?
And yes, I know I left off "Space Mutiny". Including it would have made this poll as boring as 99.6% of outer space. Vote for something else for a change.

Woohoo, it's Friday! Lots of great eps on this week's poll, but the one that stands out for me is the little-mentioned Stranded in Space. I love it. I watch it more often than most other eps and I never seem to tire of it.

I'm going to have to go with Teenagers from Outerspace. There's just something about that episode that really captures all the charm of the Joel/Trace/Kevin/Frank era for me. Strong riffing, a goofy fun b-movie, and one of the best host segments ever (reel life vs. real life) have always made it a favorite of mine.
I also love Stranded in Space and Prince of Space a lot, but in this case the threat of TOHCHA! must win out.

Oh, man...I'm going to have to abstain from this one. I simply CAN'T make a choice between "TEENAGERS" and "PRINCE"! Lemme get a coin...<sigh>...

Prince of Space, without a doubt. My second episode of MST3K even now still holds well. One of the best offerings from the Sci-Fi era, this one is packed with over the top goofiness and the riffing to match. A classic in my book.
As for the others, Fire Maidens from Outer Space comes close behind Prince of Space. Teenagers from Outer Space and Manhunt in Space are good, but not exceptional. The other ones I don't care much for, though the short on Space Children is pretty funny.

Teenagers does have NotUglyBetty. The actress plays her just right (kinda dumb) too. And "Torcha" and neat, no mess disintegrator-ray pistols.
But I'm going with Space Travelers, because Joel mentions the Mars Snooper and the Cherokee D (Estes Model Rockets) which was probably the quip that hooked me on MST3k.

Nice quote from Bill Bryson, Atari!
I went with Manhunt in Space, since it takes place mostly IN space, as opposed to space being something the characters travel through to grow giant lobsters, find Terra, or talk children into blowing up a good part of our national defense. It also brings fond memories of the time when grown men could go by the names Rocky and Winky without anyone bursting out laughing. Ahhh, space.

Woo, Free Range Gargan[tua]s! {Would have really killed the actors that add the last syllable?}
Teenagers from Outer Space! They're not really teenagers but they are from outer space. You can tell by they way they look, I mean, dress. The way they talk?

I have to go with Teenagers, only because if I were sitting down and watching either as a non-MSTie movie, I think I could get thru it easier than I could Prince of Space. But I think I like Prince of Space more for the Host Skits, and general goofiness.
So, it was a hard toss-up, so considering them on a non-MST3k level was the tie-breaker, putting Teenagers in the lead.

...No Space Mutiny?!? I would have voted for it in a heartbeat. I ended up voting for Prince of Space anyway. Cute goofy Japanese superhero movie.

You know, "Space Mutiny" doesn't necessarily win every poll it's included in (and I should know).

I went with Teenagers from Outer Space.
My two little kids LOVE the scene where Servo sings and gets spooked. They go around the house going...
"Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo....doo-doo-doo-doo-AAAHH!!!"
