Final Sacrifice bugs me for two reasons:
1- Simply repeating "Rowsdower" over and over isn't funny to me. It wasn't funny in Escape 2000 with "Toblerone", it wasn't funny in Deathstalker with "CLAYTON!", and it isn't funny here.
2- The old guy in the cabin didn't sound like Yosemite Sam at all. He sounded like Dr. Teeth. Way more Jim Henson than Mel Blanc. Nitpicky, I know, but it gets me every time.
Don't get me wrong, I think the movie is perfect MST fodder, the host segments are great, and the riffing is otherwise decent. But those two problems keep it from being a "best ever" episode for me. Above average, at best.
So I vote for Goosio and Joe Don. The riffing during the Malta scenes is some of the best in the show's history. The chase scene through the church & docks in Malta reminds me of the chase scene through the trainyard in "The Rebel Set." And anytime an episode compares well to "The Rebel Set" (one of my top 5), it will get my vote.

I vote FS and strike back at this perceived backlash ! It is definitely one of their strongest start to finish.

Justice is good, but he's no Mitchell. While Final Sacrifice seems to have received this recent backlash and fallen from favor -it isn't steady enough? BAH! Yeah you heard me BAH! I laugh till I drop, start to finish. I honestly haven't watched FS since it first aired. Don't remember it being really anything special. Not bad, but just kind of meh. Certainly not any better than Touch of Satan or Phantom Planet from that year, and certainly not in the same league as the great season 8 eps. But I think I still have it on tape, I'll drag it out this weekend and see if it's better than I remember. As I've already said today, different strokes.... We wont all find the same things funny and that's cool. I find the riffing steallar but you might drag that tape out and hardly laugh. And Mr. A, It's the way they say Rowsdower, like Troy, that makes it funny for me. It's funny in the same way, oh like in the way they keep repeating ""Ba-Dum-Ba, Da, Dum-Da dow, dow" during Danger Death Ray But hey, if it bugs ya, it bugs ya.

It just reminds me of the David Letterman rule of comedy, employed nightly in his schtick: If it wasn't funny once, maybe it'll be funny 50 times.
To me, "Rowsdower" is as funny as "Uma. Oprah."
Same basic concept.

Oh I agree with you in theory, most of the time that bugs me as well. But sometimes, just the way they do it, Like the "again" in Star Force, makes the exception to the rule. Something about that high pitched, quickly spoken Rowsdower, just hits me the right way every time.
i'm like a child... "Say it again!"

Linc, you may be sleep deprived, but I agree with you. I laugh at the repeats of Rowsdower, I laugh at the imitations of Pipper's voice, and I laugh at lots of other points too. Final Sacrifice for me all the way.

It's Final Sacrifice for me. The riffing was really funny, and it's hard for me to watch Joe Don Baker for 90 minutes(Don't send me any letters, Joe Don, my dog would just eat them)

I realize this has already been said, but the very first thing that came to my mind? Anyway, I picked Sacrifice. I think the riffing is pretty even for both, but Sacrifice had much more memorable characters. If I want a Joe Don fix, I'll pop in Mitchell.

Cap'n can contain the love of multitudes, H*M*A!
I went with FS, but by a hair. It's just so seams-showing, bare bones, bring your own tank top filmmaking! Like when the cult members' car rolls gently off the road and glides to a gentle stop in a way that wouldn't harm a cocker spaniel puppy but the guys inside are clearly supposed to be dead or knocked out or something... they might as well have taped a sign saying "WE CAN'T AFFORD TO WRECK THE CAR" on the door.
FJ is filled with terrific moments but Joe Don Baker's lack of sense of humor about himself kinda spoils things a bit. This is clearly an absurd movie that everyone agreed to work on to get a free vacation in Malta but he wants it to be "Walking Tall II--I Want An Oscar Dammit!" Lighten up, Joe Don, you're gonna have an embolism. Have some more milk, or something.
I sensed that with my hair. My hair is an elaborate network of nerves, constantly processing information.

Final Justice is a great episode, but Final Sacrifice is in a class by itself. They've both got bad plots (obviously), but FS's is much more ridiculous, and I'd have no problen watching it without the riffing. FJ gets dull at times and I couldn't watch an un-MSTed version of it. I find Rowsdower way more amusing than Joe Don Baker. The very name Rowsdower gives me the giggles. Thomas Jefferson Geronimo just makes me roll my eyes. My mother, who is no fan of the show or anything else funny for that matter, came in while I was watching FS not too long ago. She shook her head, gave me a Look, and made a comment about not this stupid movie again. Then she immediately started laughing at the Pipper/Yosemite Sam riffs. FS is definately MST at its finest.

I just have too many sentimental attachments to FS to vote otherwise.
But I am learning to love Malta and all that comes with it. But I think I'll always love FJ as a friend, if you know what I mean.

The "Rowsdower" lines bug me most of the time, and the Yosemite Sam riffs do the same thing to me. I like the grizzly old voice they use, but when I hear the specifically-Yosemite Sam riffs, I always think that they're really pulling the reference out of nowhere. And yet I still love the episode.
