Trace and Frank were HONESTLY as good as Abbott and Costello. Well, better in my opinion. But I'm not too fond of Abbott and Costello.

Well heck, note my name for the board. Would I have fallen in love with crow were it not for Trace's puppeteering skills? I think not. And I never thought I was in love with Trace--it was really the puppet that drew me. I've heard celebrities who perform with the Muppets say that they forget they're not real and start interacting with them as people, and I had the same reaction to watching Crow. Without having an actual psychotic break and believing he was alive, I reacted to him as if he were. I would have dated him, but that pesky Trace would have come along, right?
I think Bill Corbett is wonderful, btw. I do not mean to detract from his talents by also admiring Trace's.

I've always been one to sing the praises of Trace. And Trace and Frank were one of the best comedy teams of all time. After MST stopped I had a odd thought, that Trace would have done well in the SNL cast, maybe breathed some life into that show. Just a crazy thought. Not so crazy ! It puts me in mind of that stellar season of `84, where, for just that one year , we had Harry Shearer / Billy Crystal / Christopher Guest / Martin Short / etc. in a just-about All-Star Cast ! I'd love to have seen Trace in something like that : SNL 2004 with : Joe Flaherty / Trace Beaulieu / Jonathon Katz / Laura Kightlinger / Andy Kindler . . . . hmm , who else comprises this dream-cast ?

I agree with everyone. Trace and Frank were brilliant together. Hilarious. Timeless. I haven't seen Giant Gila Monster yet, but I hear their revamp of the characters is great.

It is. As much as I liked seeing Joel back in the jumpsuit (and i did) I really got a kick out of seeing Trace and Frank back in character. It made me feel very nostalgic.

I love this thread. All the Brains are great, but it was Trace as Dr Forrester that pulled me in originally as a fan of MST. Ya gotta love the mad scientist angle.

Brilliant.
I loved his work in MST. All his Monty Python Jokes that I've heard, I've truly gained respect for him. I spent years being corrupted by my Mother by Monty Python influence, and hearing Dr Forrester and Crow make Jokes referring to it, get me every time. I feel he perfected exactly what Crow's personality was supposed to be. The right man for the job. Mind you, I still like Bill's work with Crow too.
Him and Frank where a perfect combo as the Mads. I was sad to see him go, but I love the show from KTMA to Season 10, and all cast members.
Thanks Trace for your excellent work on the show

Trace was amazing. Dr. Forrester and Frank made the best comedy-duo I know, and I'll never forget his "VE VANT TO ASK YOU SOME QVESTIONS!" that came out of left field in Mr. B Natural.

Dr. Forrester and CC-era/Movie Crow are two of the best things about MST3K. I like Trace's Crow voice. It has a certain charm.

Is there room in here for me? Trace's Crow is my favorite character because he had great timing and whatever he said was hilarious. But honestly, think about it, without Trace's Dr. Forrester nemesis would the show have even been successful?

Trace was my favorite performer on the show.
His leaving coincided with a steep decline in my interest in the show. That and my cable provider in '97-'98 didn't have Sci-Fi.
Trace's crow always made me laugh the hardest.
