I've never quite gotten the whole glass debate personally. If I see the glass empty beforehand then it's half full. If I see it full and someone drinks half of the contents, it's half empty. If I see it half way filled with no prior knowledge to how the glass was before, all I know is that I wouldn't drink from the glass, just in case someone else had already consumed half the contents.
