If anything, now-ish (or towards the end of March/middle of April) would be the optimal time to launch another crowdfunder (assuming that's the route they go, which isn't a given).
Tax season, people have more cash on hand from refunds or their yearly salary raises/bonuses, etc.
Waiting until the end of the year again just invites the same issue a lot of people seemed to have last time, having their money already tied up on the holidays.
If I were to guess, I'd say they're going to launch another campaign or make some sort of announcement regarding the future within the next 2 months. It has been/will be long enough that they will have had plenty of time to discuss things with potential partners and/or plan out tye next steps.
There's no point in stretching out the amount of time. There's no strikes. There's no moratorium from Netflix. No covid holdup. And the further they get away from Season 13 the less the momentum (of what momentum there was, anyways) will be. And the more likely more unforseen obstacles pop up, like another strike.
But if nothing comes about by...July, let's say, I wouldn't expect anything significant for awhile.

other jonah updates from that podcast: He has given up standup comedy. Burnt out on it. Been bartending on weekends and plans to keep doing so. His movie Destroy All Neighbors is out in case you missed it. He talks in depth about finding his friend dead. Cripes. Talk about being in a bad place.

I have a few solid contacts.
And understandable concern, but on the other hand...
When one leaves someone on read for ~4 months on a topic that is very evidently important to them and a lot of other people, you can't be surprised when people start going around one to find answers.

Sent another message on Discord.
"Howdy, its been awhile. Just wondering if there was anything new you'd heard from your cousin about that copy of K03?"
If I don't get a response within the next month I'm going to try and reach out to the cousin directly, or get someone like Gilchrist involved.

No, it obviously peaked at everyone's favorite episode, the quintessential MST, the one everyone always says is their favorite, you know the one I'm talking about. The one, the only: 305-Stranded in Space

My confirmation bias doesn't need stoking at this point. The massive flop of the season 14 campaign confirmed what I already knew.
But on the other hand, one doesn't see too many pro nu-mst takes with 10k likes or their equivalent on many other social media platforms, dumpster fire or not.
*shrug*
And Tim Ryder is still flailing around in the replies, days later. Sure is persistent. Reminds me...of...
*shakes head*
No, no, that would be silly...

Sometimes it's better and sometimes worse in that regard. I find the earlier years during the prime-time parts of the year (July-December) have LOTS of unique ads and promos. Those same years in the "off" months (January-June) have lots of repeats.
Now, the LATER years on CC, 1995-1996, they would drive the same 3-4 commercials INTO THE GROUND, regardless of the time of year.

The commercial is fine, I just wish it wasn't repeated EVERY SINGLE COMMERCIAL BREAK, lol.

Considering the fact that literally no one but me noticed or engaged with him on Twitter in the first place & his DMs are closed on Twitter; the prospect that anyone else dug through his socials to find his Discord or any other direct contact method, much less anyone from Shout, seems remote. Not impossible, just remote.
...And I wouldn't trust Shout with K03 to begin with, considering they seemingly lost it the first time; and couldn't find good enough copies of the other KTMA eps, even though it seems evident that Jim had everything backed up and/or digitized himself 20 years ago.

I think it just reinforces what we all assumed, this is is/was a really low priority for Alex and his cousin. And that's fine, I guess. Not everyone is obligated to have the same level of ferver.
But it's the seeming lack of *care* that there ARE people that REALLY care and ARE fervent that irritates me.
Again, maybe the cousin is a in a deep, deep mourning. I don't doubt he is. But Alex could at least answer back saying so. Or even just a quick "I'll check" or "give me some time".
Or even a "go away". I'd accept that. That's closure. I can then move onto letting the fandom at large take over then.

Over 24 hours and he still hasn't responded. And he's been on and offline several times. And posted on Twitter a few times since. Not sure how long to give him before following-up again.

Yeah, I couldn't be using a lighter touch here if I tried.
I'll quote you what I wrote:
"Hey man, hope the holidays treated you well. Happy new year. Have you heard from your cousin about getting the digitized copy of K03?"
For the first message in nearly 3 weeks, I think I'm being pretty gentle.

Alright, I've given it 3 weeks, past the holidays. I've messaged him back on Discord to see if there's any updates from his cousin.

I just remembered what Frank's horribly mangled German in segment 5 is supposed to mean. 3 years of German in high school and college lies in the back of my brain, dormant, and it randomly popped into my head.
Its supposed to mean something like:
Yes, what a lovely time, sir. Would you like to hear a song?"
"But again, it's horribly mangled to comedic affect.
