I just read at tv shows on dvd .com that Navarre has shut down the company BCI entertainment. How will this effect the likelyhood of ROBOT VS. THE AZTEC MUMMY being released?

Did it ever accour to anyone that the volume 9 recal had nothing to do with Wemon of the prehistoric planet? Look at the back of volume 9 reveals that rhino liscensed Icredibly strange creatures... was liscensed by media blasters. Why the hell would a company that exclusivly distributes Japanese movies own the rights to a sixtys monster flick from Jersey? Because Media Blasters doesn't just release Japanese movies. Their Shriek Show devision releases horror and exploitation films like ZOMBI 2, ANTHROPOPHAGUS: THE GRIM REAPER, DEVIL DOG: HOUND FROM HELL and GRIZZLY. HUH I had no idea. looks like they do own the rights to the movie. Still though i cant imagine that the company that owns wemon of the prehistoric planet would even care. Mabye rhino removed the item after finding out that a copyright might exist because they were afraid they would get sued like they were with megalon. If not then rhino should really sue Krypton international for selling them these films they obviously couldn't legally distribute.

Maybe. *If* Shout managed to sub-license FIRST SPACESHIP ON VENUS from Image Entertainment/Wade Williams, then I'd certainly say yes. However, if they licensed it from someone else (like First Run Features), or are assuming it's PD.... then no. The only Image titles that worry me are the Wade Williams titles like THE CRAWLING EYE, PROJECT MOONBASE, etc. If Shout would have to go through Wade Williams, then there might be a problem (considering Rhino's screw-up with WOMEN OF THE PREHISTORIC PLANET).
