Oh gosh, I totally forgot about this thread! Anyway, I wish I had more to share, but I remember while I was trying to talk with him about these tapes, at some point he just...vanished off the face of the earth. :/ Just stopped talking to me and idk what happened. Wish I knew what was going on, but yeah sorry to say that we won't really know if he had the tapes.

So I just found out that this year's live tour will be stopping by Salt Lake City, Utah this time in February, awesome!!! Just went and bought me a ticket. Glad I won't have to fly out somewhere like Colorado, which I did last year. I just hope it's not suddenly cancelled like the 2017 show in SLC was.

Got my Season 12 box set a few days ago as well! Looks really nice. Just one question: Are the running times for the episodes any different than the ones on Netflix? I ask because last year around the time the pledge drive was going on, I remember reading somewhere that the box sets would have the "director's cuts" of the episodes, so I assumed the episodes would be running longer on the video releases. It would be nice they they were indeed longer with some more riffs added, since these episodes are among the shortest they've done.

The 6th and final MST3K comic is out today! Picked it up earlier, and I think it was a pretty good last issue! The very last panel definitely put a smile on my face. Not sure if they're gonna end up doing more of these comics, but I wouldn't mind if they did. What we got here was an interesting experiment at least.
Also if any of you didn't get to pick up all the comics, I think there's gonna be a full book released later this fall.

Issue #5 came out a few days ago. Was pretty good! Not much to say about this one but I like how the comic "worlds" are starting to collide more, and I'm looking forward to the last issue.

Issue #4 is out today. Picked it up and I think it's one of the best ones so far! They seem to be getting a better hang of adapting riffing to comics, the jokes and visual gags were really good and are getting a little more creative. A great issue I'd say! Also for some reason, Grover has a oddly well-defined butt in one of the first pages.

It just reached its goal! And I just donated too which I think helped push it over the edge!

Great episode! And a very good ending to the season. A goofy movie with lots of goofy riffing, just how I like it. Cave Dwellers is one my top fave from the classic era too, and I always wanted to see the "prequel" get the MST treatment it deserved. I had also seen the RiffTrax take on this a couple years ago, but I think I prefer this version, it just feels more at home on MST.
As for the season overall, I agree it's a noticeable improvement in a number of aspects. The better pacing of the riffing is a big plus, and I can tell the new cast are really settling into their roles more comfortably. A couple more episodes would've nice, but they still did a really good job with what they had. Short, but sweet.
Her's hoping we get a season 13 soon enough!

This one was just okay for me. Lame movie and good-not-great riffing. I actually didn't mind the mid-movie song they did, I thought it was kinda fun. It's different, but I like how they're still experimenting with things in the reboot like this. That said, I think they could've dialed back the other sight gags they had going on, which seemed a tad excessive even for the new show; The "Hey I baked this thing" joke from the extra bots outstayed its welcome IMO. Also I enjoyed hearing Joel singing the Idiot Control Now song at the end, got a little kick out of that.

Honestly I really, REALLY enjoyed this one! The movie was really goofy and the riffing actually got a lot of laughs out of me. That musical number was pretty charming, and WOW, that cameo at the end was a perfect cherry on top! I think I'm gonna put this one in my favorites so far next to Mac and Me.

I think this one was just alright, would probably put it in the "good not great" pile. Somehow I feel that this was even duller than the last movie, yawn. The riffs were a bit hit-or-miss for me, though I do think it picked up a little bit towards the second half when stuff was actually happening. And I also LOVED that ending segment!

Personally I thought this one was pretty solid. I can understand, however, how it'll be polarizing for some folks. It does indeed feel a little weird to see a recent "modern" film getting riffed, and it's a really dull mockbuster at that, but I thought they got some pretty good riffing out of it nonetheless. Also that pathetic group fist bump at the end was hilarious.

This was a great starter episode! As others have said they've definitely improved the pacing for the riffs now, and the movie was awesomely bad and gave me some Pod People vibes. And the last part of the episode was indeed pretty amazing. Looking forward to the rest of the season!

Slightly bummed about losing a host segment & the commercial bumps, but I think it's a small sacrifice all things considered. Good to know they've improved the pacing for the riffs as well. I was also hoping they could explain how the new bots and SOL came about, but perhaps they'll save that for next season, at least I hope.
