Emily is a really good actress, such a positive addition to the show! I agree, she's got a great energy!

Lots of great riffs in this one. While I still have to rewatch BEYOND ATLANTIS, I think this and SANTOS are the best so far. If Gypsy is going to make a joke every 10 seconds, just have her stay in the theater. Or actually give her funny riffs?

This is a GREAT choice for MST. Overall the riff writing seems comparable to Santos. I enjoyed the oxygen deprivation skit. I thought I would've gotten used to it by now, but I physically recoil every time I see that Munchie puppet. Its absolutely hideous. I keep hearing Kevin Murphy's Tom Servo screaming "AHHHHHHH!" every time he's on screen.

The RPG skit could have made for a great host segment (Tom playing as a licensed counselor), pity it was just a commercial!

Wow, lots of RETURN OF SWAMP THING connections here: Same music composer, same director and two actors who appeared in it (Ace Mask and Monique Gabrielle).

Just call her Gypsy, ffs… Yeah, I think spelling her name different would have been enough. The pronunciation is cringe-clunky in the intro.

Not exactly MST3K, but Shout just announced that there are only 100 copies left of the Cinematic Titanic set and that it will go out of print after that. I wonder if it will remain on Tubi/in rotation on Twitch, or if they’re losing the rights to any of the films? It would be nice if they became available digitally on the Gizmoplex or the Rifftrax site. The rights have probably finally expired on the Sam Sherman-licensed titles (BRIDES OF BLOOD, THE DYNAMITE BROTHERS, BRAIN OF BLOOD, etc.) and/or THE ALIEN FACTOR. Hopefully they stay on streaming for longer!

The new voice for Crow was distracting at first (I kept thinking it was a funny voice Emily was doing), but overall this episode is a step-up from ROBOT WARS.
Well..
Hmmm....
Then there's "Mother Crabber."

Figure the sales of the earlier volumes would serve as the petition. Yep.

Shout Factory would probably love to squeeze one more box set out, and get that last little bit of revenue from their IP.
I can't imagine licensing some deep catalog titles from Paramount to be nearly as expensive as some of the wildcard indie-owned ones they've had to negotiate. It's really just a matter of time, as others have said.

I feel like I'm definitely not alone with this, but I'm sorry, but they have to re-do the intro, it's just.........bad. One thing for the entire series and all it's different variations, EVEN seasons 11 and 12 (minus the short break partway through), the intro had a similar sound/format no matter what season or host. I WANTED to hear the intro each time. This new one is just.....cringe. I guess that's the best way I can explain it. - The hosts always would sing their song. I wasn't the biggest fan of S11 and S12's, but they kept the sound close enough to the original for it to pass, but having it randomly being Servo just doesn't work for me. - Rhyming "the worst motion picturettes' just doesn't work. - Felicia Day is a good singer, but both her singing feels and looks way too fake, and I swear the audio for her starts a few miliseconds too soon and it's out of sync. - The overall instrumentation just sounds too 'digital' and different. It's hard to explain, but as much as I loathe S11/S12 the intro music kept the classic instruments but just updated them a little. This feels like it's too far. Then again I don't even know why I'm writing this, it's not going to get them to update it or anything. I guess among other things I just miss the classic series and feel this re-reboot still hasn't gone far enough back into the roots of certain things that gave and made the show a cult hit. Feel free to ignore a faithful but sad MSTIE. I agree 100%. Everything about the new theme song is CRINGE. A simple redo of the original lyrics would have worked just fine. Why not just have Jonah/Emily be "another face in a jumpsuit" working at Gizmonic institute?

Lots of longer bits this episode. Feels like some of the Season 2 skits that go on for (what feels like) forever.

The extended "reason for having multiple hosts/experiment subjects" went on so long it was like a Sci-Fi Channel-era segment.
The celebrity seasoning invention made me laugh out loud.
Stop motion animation + Barbara Crampton, what more could you want?

i agree that was rather exhausting It's just crazy that the theater segments are the same but the intro and host stuff feels like a different show I kinda would have preferred to just watch a theater-segment-only version of the show to the weird minimalist CG greenscreen mash. I'm really glad we got another SANTOS movie. My wife and I just watched the "sexy" version a few months ago via the recent VCI release. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing more Mexican wrestling films in future seasons!

Totally missed opportunity for a "Santos Meets Barbra Streisand" riff.
