Health was the worst. Especially the time I went to class drunk.

Uncle Phanty yelled at me on Saturday afternoon. EDIT: I wasn't really crying.

So get this...
About a month ago I interview for this job in a different city. Everyone I meet with absolutely loves me, and I am WAY over-qualified for the position -- but that's ok because I'm just out of college and I have low standards, right?
They say that they can't hire til the next year's budget gets approved or else they might not be able to offer me the right amount of money. So I wait a week into January and the budget still isn't finished. Apparently the main office in Chicago is slow. So they offer me a "temporary permanent position" -- TEMPORARY permanent? Not just permanent and not just temporary?
So I'm waiting and waiting, and now they have to go through more budgeting things because I won't get benefits until I'm made Permanently Permanent but they really want me so they will raise my salary to compensate for the lack of benefits while I'm only Temporary Permanent. Another week goes by and I hear nothing. While I'm waiting, my current job gets more and more stressful, and the rental rates at the place I was planning on moving to have skyrocketed and I never signed a lease because these people are taking forever to give me the new job! So I finally find a place that's not too pricey and I can go month-to-month in case the Temporary Permanent thing doesn't turn Permanently Permanent...WTF?
Now I'm stuck working at LINENS-N-THINGS of all places, and I'm really wanting a change but I feel helpless and nothing seems to be going anywhere in my life!!!
PHANTOM WHAT SHOULD I DO?

That really sucks, sorry I don't have any good advice to offer. I've never heard of a temporary permanent position.

it's what they give to people as like a try-out while they evaluate you and see if you would be a good security risk, loyal employee, etc. That way they don't get sued if they fire you for some reason. it's what used to be called a probationary period for work.
