I think I read on the SciFi boards that a petition for SpikeTV to pick the show up. That would be a good move, because they obviously have tons of $$$ (it's under Mr. Turner, right?), and could afford the movie rights (except the Sandy Frank ones, damn). If they could show it at night time, while i'm at work since we've got SpikeTV on while working, that would be perfect! Oh well, i'm looking too far into something that might never happen.

It would completely rock if Spike did pick it up. But I doubt they will. But they can leagaly air the public domain movie episodes right? Like Santa Claus?

I know beggers can't be choosers, but I don't think SpikeTV (did you see what they did to Ren & Stimpy?!) would be a good home for mst3k. I just don't think it should be on a channel known for wrestling (no offense if you might watch wrestling, but...) I wouldn't want to see mst "mistreated" in anyway that would hurt its legacy. Or it could just be that I'm paranoid. Either way, I am doubtful any channel will pick it up, at least not right away.

A bastardization by it's own creator. Plus I don't watch wrestling, but there are several shows on Spike I do watch. TNG, MXC, and Joe Schmo.

Excuse me as I vomit uncontrollably.

I could be wrong, but I don't think SpikeTV is under Turner. Turner used to own the WCW and sold it to Vince McMahon who's WWE wrestling show is on SpikeTV. It wouldn't make sense for Turner to sell a money-losing wrestling organization to himself.
TNT and TBS are however under Turner, so maybe one of those stations could pick up the show?

Possibly. And, if that ever happens, I would rejoice.
Heck, I'd rejoice if PBS started showing it (I've got nothing against PBS, I just don't watch it unless there's something really, really, really good on).
I think that our best chance, however, is for some nutty executive at AMC to say, "Hey, we could do this!"

I say they just pick it up and show it. SpikeTV can't really ruin something that they don't have creative control over can they? Just play all the episodes, don't worry about new ones. And after they show it a while and we all, and new people, start watching them, then you can consider making new ones. Maybe....

As great as that would be, it would take some execs for a network seeing results from reruns, on their network mind you, to dish out the bread needed to obtain movie rights and pay the brains for their time.
Just a thought,

True, that sounds like a plan to me. I still want them to run some of the older episodes that aren't out from Rhino that I believe everyone would enjoy. Not everyone can afford or find everything there is.

I think a great place for the show would be on TECH TV. I don't think they have a lot of money but it would be a great addidion to their line-up

Just a thought but if they do a Season 11 on Spike TV then I suggest they sould start with some Japanese movies just to get the MXC crowd to watch it then they can do other genres of film as people start to notice the show.

You know, now that I think about it, that is a great idea. Considering that MXC is basically a low-grade MST3K, except for with voiceovers instead of riffs, I'm sure a lot of people would watch, if it had a decent time spot. Servo

I heard a while back (and I’ll admit this is a stretch even for a rumor) that some sort of talk between BBI and The B-Movie Channel went on about doing MST there… Or at least a spin-off type version. I asked Barb at the info club and she doesn’t know anything about it but who knows?
